I don't know that I've ever beaten a gen 1 game (original or remakes) with a Bulbasaur. I have used Charmander and Squirtle (and Pikachu) though, so Bulbasaur it is.

Good choice! Bulbasaur is my personal pick, though I voted Pikachu since I think I'm getting Yellow.

Ughhh Mega/Giga Drain is SOO handy and Charizard is Charizard, but I might have to pick Squirtle since I've never really played with him before (in Red/Blue at least). In Yellow I'd go with Pikachu since that's an option exclusive to Yellow. It wouldn't feel right to play Yellow my first time WITHOUT choosing Pikachu, ya feel me

EDIT: In all seriousness, I think I prefer Zapdos out of the three. Mostly because not having a 4x weakness to Stealth Rock is something I like having.

And the results are in! Of the eleven people who voted, only one had the heart to choose Charmander. Tied for second place were Bulbasaur and Pikachu, with three votes apiece, and Squirtle taking first with four votes.
