Idea for submission system for smaller replacements

Hi I have an idea for the submission system, concerning smaller formatting replacements.

So you only get 2 submissions, most people probably will use them wisely, submit their best arrangements, or from a series they think need more arrangements, or replacing a really bad arrangement. The thing is that few people probably want to spend them on smaller replacements (revised replacements).

So my idea is that we first of: to divide the submissions board into 2 boards. One for regular submissions and bigger replacements, and one for smaller replacements. Secondly: keep the submission count at 2 for regular and bigger replacements, and give people 1-2 submissions for smaller replacements.

What this does is that it encourages people to fix/touch up sheets on site that are already fine in musical terms. Rather than now when people often consider submitting other more important arrangements, and arrangements with mediocre formatting will remain as they are.

Not really a new idea, but a worthy one to consider. Keep in mind though, replacement or not, that still raises the submission counter. For something like this to succeed, I predict we will need to end another focus. Perhaps we can move to having only one "Official Project" at a time, alternating between fixing the sheets and new arrangements at the choice of the community.

When given the choice between adulting and music, choose music every time.

I've suggested before something like this and my proposed solution was that non-updaters (or like, special "secondary updaters") could be responsible for accepting formatting related nonsense since that doesn't require as much musical understanding like the updaters have

Yeah, but it would be in those situations that musical errors would go unchecked. Better to just handle it the normal way, really.

It wouldn't necessarily be musical errors. It's just formatting and maybe readability

But that is only a portion of the reason we replace arrangements (and the smaller one, at that).

I can use the entire Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages section as example. pno.'s, too many pages than necessary, wrong text sizes and styles, wrong enharmonics, lack of dynamic etc.

Still, it doesn't hurt to get an updater's approval on these things (that's kind of our job). If anything, it will just yield a better arrangement.

This is literally the same idea I brought up a while ago. Good idea, Tobbeh!

I like this idea. In my opinion, we don't need tow arrangement projects going at a time. We could, as Olimar suggests, alternate between fixing and regular arrangement projects or we could do away with fixing the sheets since we would have a replacement board. I don't know how others feel about that.
