Go to MIDI in the task bar.

1. Select human playback and set it on jazz (or any other type that has swing in it).

2. Select swing and select a type

I don't know if this is on Notepad but I think you also need the symbol that indicates swing along with the tempo.

Ah casino night zone. I can tell you it's not 4/4. Lol it'll be frustrating to start over.

So...will this allow you to make swinging eigths (where there are 2 eigth notes, the first gets the beat of a quarter note triplet and the next eigth gets the beat of a eigth note triplet) ?

BAH! That's not an option in Finale notepad. D:

I'm probably just going to get Print Music. It'll be a lot more handy. :/

Tempo and the swing function can make seem like it's in a different time sig than 4/4.

Hmm alright I'll tell you what it is. It's suppose to be 12/8. The tempo marking has to change from a quarter to a dotted quarter note, but leave the number as it is. Swing music uses this time signature often. How am I sure of this? I compared a 4/4 and my 12/8 version and the 12/8 version synced exactly with the original. 4/4 and 12/8 can be so confusing for most people. That's up to you though whether you want to change it or not. An alternative is to write everything using triplets in 4/4, but that's highly not recommended; plus it's confusing.
