So, Insig may be able to compose stuff, eh?

Here's something that's actually only for left hand, now. And possibly your left elbow. For some parts, I find it easier to flip my hand around so it points towards me, so I can just swing my elbow down for the chord clusters on the bottom.

Dekkadeci

How are your left hands that big? I can't do Bars 1-4, Bars 28-29, or Bars 30-End without pedal or large arpeggios. I can't do Bar 29 without both combined.

(The above assumes I use my left hand only.)

InsigTurtle

Oh, you're supposed to use pedal and arpeggios, it's supposed to be implied. Either that, or I'm too lazy to write out pedal and roll markings.

Ya know, I found myself wanting to listen to Dooperino again... I really like that song  ;)

InsigTurtle

Yeah, Dooperino has a rather ambient feel, to it. The rhythms in it are actually pretty complex at times. While it's unambiguously in 4/4 time, with the taiko drum marking out every 4 beats, the slap bass does a 3+2 rhythm and the other bass does a 3+3+3+2+3+2 rhythm, except for those little 2-measure breaks, where the slap bass does 3+3+2, and the fingered bass has eighth note triplets added. As for the percussion...

Even I have no clue what I did there.

So I did another thing recently.

I wrote this while I was confused, which isn't saying much since I'm always confused. Anyway, it has some oddities that I'm too lazy to explain.

AmpharosAndy

(In reference to 'msdf') I really like the development and structure of this piece. The harmony is quite interesting too thanks to some nice key changes and so on. You're very clearly influenced by video game music (not a bad thing when you're on ninsheetmusic). To me, the intro sounds like the intro to gerudo valley in oot as well as bar 7 containing what sounds like the main legend of zelda theme. Keep it up, bub :)

InsigTurtle

Hey, thanks! I've been working on my harmony, since before, I used to write mostly modally. Also, don't mind my naming scheme, I don't like naming things.

Anyway, something serious this time, with an actual name.

I tried having the melody die at the end, struggling to start again but failing. I think it might have worked?

Something died during that piece, but I can't smell what it was

Another thing with an actual name. If it hadn't been so hard to write, it would have been longer. I like the effect, though it's difficult to play

It's been a while. Just real busy with school stuff.

Here's a thing that I didn't know how to title. It begins with this march-like theme, but I'm not very good at describing things, so if you're interested or have nothing better to do with your time, have a listen. I think it sounds nice.

cashwarrior1

Remember aminorthing? (Am I Northing?) Yeah, good times. Name this eminorthing! (E Mi Northing!)

AmpharosAndy

Bit late but I love the march thingy - maybe you even have a name by now.

Really engaging in terms of the key areas of music (good melody, harmony, rhythm etc) so it ticks my boxes! One thing: section starting at 33 feels like it should in a compound time sig, especially towards the end. Counting it in 4/4 isn't right for me with the triplet crotchets in the left hand :S
