Is the amiibo situation that bad outside where I live? I haven't had a lot of problems trying to get some. Like, I can literally walk in and get most of the amiibos without any problems.

Yeah it's terrible in America. Mostly because about ten of them are certain store exclusives and in extremely limited quantity.
