Start it early in the morning.

It may not take that long, but it's better to anticipate it taking a while. Other than that, unfortunately, I can't give you any more advice... good luck!

found out that avi files are not good for uploading to youtube. thank you maestro

unfortunately i can't easily get to an mp4 format, so wma will have to do. If someone has something i could use to convert that to an mp4 though, that'd be freaking awesome.

Download a program called formatfactory. It will convert anything to anything.
