Technically, grass is living, but not really in a sense that many people would consider as... "living." Especially in LoZ, where the grass just regrows when you leave the area.

The best way to protect against grass is with a trusty sword given to you by the goddesses.  Too bad there aren't swords in Kid Icarus, so we'll have to make do with my cool staff thing.
