the_last_sheikah oversimplified the issue.  I won't criticise MaestroUGC here (I'm sure that he's seen enough of it already and I'm hoping he's contrite or at least doesn't plan to commit to another event like that again.), but you could easily read the game to learn the circumstances that led to his ban.
