Message System is weird.

I'm not too pleased with the current message system. It gets the job done, but it basically just lists all your messages with no type of organization. Maybe I missed something though.

It's not, but most forums have more inbox options.

We are using a very old version of Simple Machines Forums. In time we may upgrade, and if that happens, we'll make sure to check out the features for the message system, and see if we can add a few more options.

SMF 1.1.14 has been released

I'm not seeing how this is considered old when it was released this year. <_<

Well, I was referring to SMF 1

We can update often, but we can't just pick up and switch to SMF 2 that easily. As far as I've researched, it's much more powerful.

SMF 2 has it's own set of updates/versions.
