I was REALLY bored...sooo...

Here's my list of the top one hundred Pokemon songs.

A FEW NOTES:
These are in no particular order because DAMN IT IS HARD TO FIGURE OUT AN ORDER
There are no RBY songs on here; I used the FRLG ones instead because they're basically the same, but enhanced; unlike HGSS where there are some radically different remixes.
On many of the Diamond and Pearl ones, I’ve included both the Day and Night versions because they are so similar.

1.   Battle! Bianca and Cheren -- the Black and White Rival Battle music has a playfulness that I like. Plus the whole childhood friend rival setup in this game is so cute...just like this music.

2.   Route 1 (BW) -- again with playfulness, I enjoy the way the Route music in BW starts off with a happy-go-lucky scene in mind, and then the themes become more epic as the game progresses.

3.   Route 2 (BW) -- Quite possibly the song that really defines the beginning of a Pokemon game. Really short, sweet, and simple.

4.   Battle! Trainer (BW) -- A pretty nice battle theme. It's somehwat lacking in epic as far as the others are concerned, but I like how they use the "da-da-DAAAA, da-da-DAAAA, da-da-DAAAA, da-da-DAAAA" theme at the beginning. (I don't know what else to name that...)

5.   Battle! Team Plasma (BW) -- Amazing bad guys battle theme that really sounds evil.

6.   Battle! Gym Leader (BW) -- An epic intro, and a nice theme overall, but again, drops into familiar territory...Masuda's battle themes are getting a bit repetitive.

7.   Route 4 (BW) â€" The definition of Pokémon Black and White. :) Perfect for the game. After Castelia City, the game starts to feel like a real adventure. The music perfectly suits that feeling.

8.   Unwavering Emotions â€" the tear-jerking moment…for those of you who are sissies. Jk, it’s a really pretty song with lots of…well, emotion.

9.   One Captivated by Formulae â€" N’s creepy little theme. Fits the nerdy, mumbling boy perfectly. xD

10.   Driftveil City â€" awesome city music that’s a bit reminiscent of a nightclub. Didn’t really fit the city, but still a great theme.

11.   Route 6 (BW) â€" Okay, so now you’re into the adventure. It’s the second half of the story mode. It’s going great, but you realize that this game’s not going to last forever. Your character is maturing and seeing all sides of life, so you need an adventurous but somewhat bittersweet theme to go along with that. This is it (duh).

12.   Mistralton City â€" An epic theme perfect for a town all about flying.

13.   Icirrus City â€" it has the happy, silly feel of a town at the beginning of the game; but it’s more like people here live in harmony than most towns.

14.   Battle! Ghetsis â€" Probably the most epic battle theme in the game. I love this because it manages to be a chilling song while consisting only of harsh drums and a haunting chorus.

15.   N’s Farewell â€" one of my favorites. Despite its simplicity, and the fact that it seems a bit out of place in the game, it manages to be a beautiful piece that adds depth to N’s character.

16.   Musical Hall â€" a bouncy, pompous waltz that is indescribably fun to listen to.

17.   Anville Town â€" My personal favorite. It’s so relaxing and calm. It’s pretty simple but I really love the way it sounds. I enjoy the piano version that normally plays in game almost as much as with the flutist on the bridge.

18.   Lacunosa Town â€" just fantastic. My second favorite town music in BW, Lacunosa Town is a good theme that almost sounds like Professor Layton.

19.   Battle! Champion (BW) â€" second only to Ghetsis’s battle theme, Alder has an awe-inspiring if somewhat familiar sounding battle theme.

20.   Battle! Cipher Admin (Colosseum) â€" The only Colosseum song I have included, it’s an incredibly silly and yet dangerous battle theme that lets the player know that while the villains in this game are difficult, it’s great to smile and have fun beating them.

21.   Route 201 (Day/Night) â€" perfect for the opening route of Diamond and Pearl. The “playfulness” I mentioned earlier is seen here. The music just makes you want to go play around on this route! xD

22.   Battle! Trainer (DP) â€" my third-favorite trainer battle theme of all of them. Doesn’t quite match up to Red and Blue (or even Gold and Silver) but it’s fun, exciting, and serious.

23.   Battle! Team Galactic â€" Here we get the first taste of Team Galactic’s main theme. It’s very jazzy and quite different from what we have come to expect from a rival team’s theme, and I quite like it.

24.   Battle! Team Galactic Commander â€" It plays off of Team Galactic’s main theme, but it’s crazy and wild and fast, it really suits the zany, formidable, and completely insane antics of the Galactic Commanders.

25.   Route 206 (Day/Night) â€" I really like this route theme all around. Not generic, but not fantastic, it’s good middleground as far as route themes go.

26.   Route 209 (Day/Night) â€" Probably my favorite route music ever. Maybe second to Route 11 (RB). Calm, lush, and very moving. Just amazing.

27.   Route 210 (Day/Night) â€" A good~okay route theme, but it captures the adventurous feel of the route in question perfectly.

28.   Canalave City (Day/Night) â€" A wonderful and moving piece. Gives the city a more emotional feeling that could easily have been a dark one.

29.   Fight Area (Day/Night) â€" adventurous and a good song to get hyped for the Battle Tower.

30.   Route 225 (Day/Night) â€" a really great theme and really suits the post game routes.

31.   Pokémon Center (Night) â€" Okay, so it’s just the Pokémon Center theme…except it makes you feel lonely and reminiscent and…holy crap this song is depressing. I think this was probably one of the most effective night remixes in the game.

32.   GTS (DP) â€" okay, it gets annoying after a while, but…it’s a really great song, and sounds like Nintendo welcoming their players to the Wi-Fi aspect of the game.

33.   Floaroma Town (Night) â€" wait…did I say the Pokémon Center was the best Night remix? I changed my mind. The Floaroma Town is now holder of that title. The thing I find interesting is that the daytime versions of both songs are meh, but the night remixes bring out good points.

34.   Battle! Elite Four (DP) â€" basically the Gym Leader battle in a higher key. It’s pretty epic. I don’t know if Masuda made this a remix of Olivine Lighthouse on purpose, but they do sound incredibly similar. Which is okay, because this theme is better as battle music anyway.

35.   Battle! Cynthia (DP) â€" You get past Lucian, prepared for the same old champion battle. You don’t know who it is this time, but you’re pretty sure it’s your rival again. You open the door, epic piano music plays and you find…Cynthia? Huh? Who’s Cynthia again? Oh right, that random chick who gave you Cut, the SecretPotion, and sent you to meet her grandmother in that middle of nowhere town. Well you fight her and as you hear the opening chords, you realize this is going to be a formidable fight â€" harder than any champion battles previous to this. Great dramatic music for a dramatic twistâ€"and a dramatic battle.

36.   Battle Pike â€" the Battle Frontier in Emerald brought tons of fun, cool post-story plotlines, andâ€"what the hell a giant Seviper. No, that’s not a giant Seviper, that’s the Battle Pike! (Which is kind of a disappointment, because a giant Seviper would have been awesome) The Battle Pike is a creepy and morbid haunted mansion tour with different-branching paths and surprise battles. And oblivious strangers who sic their Pokémon on you. Great creepy theme.

37.   Title (FRLG) â€" Ha! Now this is Pokémon! The main theme of the whole damn series, and an epic one at that.

38.   Battle! Trainer (FRLG) â€" the ORIGINAL Pokémon Trainer battle theme. The best to date. Just…awesome.

39.   Pokémon Gym (FRLG) â€" The ORIGINAL Pokémon Gym theme. It’s not on here necessarily because it’s good, it’s just crazily nostalgic and it’s a staple of the Pokémon series.

40.   Battle! Gym Leader (FRLG) â€" The ORIGINAL Gym Leader battle theme. It’s the best to date as well. Fighting the Elite Four to this theme is just amazing. Brings back so many memories.

41.   Route 3 (FRLG) â€" The ORIGINAL overplayed Route music. This is both good and nostalgic, so it goes on the list.

42.   S.S. Anne (FRLG) â€" The ORIGINAL boat ride…okay I’ll stop now. Relaxing and great for a water level.

43.   Lavender Town (FRLG) â€" the suicide-causing small town music. It’s a classic, and although I prefer the happy GS remix, there’s not a chance it couldn’t go on this list.

44.   Pokémon Tower (FRLG) â€" this was always something of a favorite theme of mine from LeafGreen. I really like it even now. It’s good for a traditional cemetery.

45.   Celadon City (FRLG) â€" one of the most recognizable songs from Pokémon. Simple and catchy. I love the calm remix from FireRed and LeafGreen; I prefer it to the banjo strumming of GS or the big band-style march from HGSS.

46.   Game Corner (FRLG) â€" the ORIGINAL casino…oh wait I’m stopping. It’s the best casino music. I enjoy the RS and HGSS casino themes too, but they aren’t mentioned on the list. This game makes it sound more happy and “come and play to win!” rather than Ruby/Sapphire’s sleazy theme or HeartGold/SoulSilver’s hardcore gaming theme.

47.   Silph Co. (FRLG) â€" the tense Silph Co. music that most of us heard for probably at least an hour straightâ€"only interrupted by the stupid Rocket battle music. Also, wins award for Hardest To Play On Piano Ever.

48.   Route 11 (FRLG) â€" my second or first favorite Route music. Pretty awesome.

49.   Decisive Battle! Rival (FRLG) â€" the first champion music is actually my least favorite of all of them. It’s still good though.

50.   Ending (FRLG) â€" The FireRed and LeafGreen credits brought a couple great remixes into the gameâ€"I just wish this would get arranged already, it’s been requested like eighteen times.

51.   Opening (GS) â€" “Hahaha, there’s Shellder and Magikarp! Oh and Lapras! Awesome! Oh my god, Jigglypuff and Pikachu are sooo cute! Oh wow! Look! Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil HOLY SHIT IT’S CHARIZARD”

52.   Come With Me (GS) â€" Oh, come on. xD You knew this had to be here somewhere. Probably the theme that we left our Gameboys on for several minutes to hearâ€"it’s so catchy!

53.   Violet City (GS) â€" One of the best and most nostalgic town themes ever.

54.   Azalea Town (GS) â€" See Violet City.

55.   Goldenrod City (GS) â€" See Azalea Town.

56.   New Bark Town (HGSS) â€" a good remix that I prefer to the original. Nice way to start out the game, showing us that the music is going a little different direction this game.

57.   Battle! Trainer (Johto) (HGSS) â€" My…second favorite Trainer battle music. So nostalgic. xD I think we all spent at least five hours of our life hearing this theme.

58.   Route 30 (HGSS) â€" I didn’t care for it in GS, but the HGSS remix was very good. Another one that I prefer to the original.

59.   Friendly Shop (HGSS) â€" my favorite version of the amazing Poke Mart theme composed by Monsieur Go Ichinose. I like the contemporary feel of it.

60.   Battle! Team Rocket (HGSS) â€" What!? They actually cut off a Slowpoke’s tail?!

61.   Battle! Rival (HGSS) â€" Giovanni’s red haired kid was so freaking annoyingâ€"popping up all the time to tell you how much you sucked EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER BEAT YOU. >_> He had a cool battle theme though,

62.   Battle! Gym Leader (Johto) (HGSS) â€" Amazing battle music. My favorite part has to be the intro. It just sounds perfectly wild and all over the place.

63.   Route 38 (HGSS) â€" my favorite route music from Johto. It’s odd, in the original GS I liked Route 42 better, but in HGSS I prefer Route 38. Hmm.

64.   Surfing (HGSS) â€" now…it’s just a surfing theme…but if you’ve ever really listened to the HeartGold/SoulSilver remix, you’ll notice how expertly it was handled. I really love this version.

65.   Radio Tower (Team Rocket Takeover) (HGSS) â€" Ah! The classic Team Rcoket theme! Or, if you’re new to the series, the random song the guy in Castelia plays for you! Either way, delightfully evil.

66.   Route 26 (HGSS) â€" Suitably epic for the final route in Johto. Actually, this is my favorite route music.

67.   Battle! Gym Leader (Kanto) (HGSS) â€" Yep, I put two versions on here. They’re different enough to merit two different mentionsâ€"plus it’s just such a good piece.

68.   Lavender Town (HGSS) â€" I actually prefer this “happy” remix to the original RB version.

69.   Lyra/Ethan’s Theme â€" your friendly neighbor that you’ll definitely get into awkward situations with later on, Lyra if you are male, Ethan if you are female, actually has a pretty catchy theme song. I like Ethan’s “masculine” version better, but Lyra’s still holds its own.

70.   Pewter City (HGSS) â€" this ALWAYS reminded me of elevator music. I still love it though. :)

71.   Route 1 (HGSS) â€" the only version of Route 1 I actually like. The FRLG version’s clapping in the background was just…annoying.

72.   Oak’s Theme (HGSS) â€" Oak is so old, yet he has a great catchy theme. I like this better than the FRLG version.

73.   Route 47 â€" Game Freak’s way of saying “We’ve still got it!”, the theme for the new routes in HGSS were amazingly heartfelt.

74.   Battle Castle (HGSS) â€" there’s something oddly compelling about this song that I love. xD It’s just relaxing.

75.   Battle! Lugia (HGSS) â€" Dangerous, formidable, and repressed. Very crazy and evilly serene.

76.   Battle! Champion (HGSS) â€" I don’t even think I need to comment on this one. Maybe the number one battle theme ever.

77.   Staff Credits (HGSS) â€" Epic battle music is immediately followed by adorable credits music with dancing Bellossom and other delights…but you’ll really only be paying attention to the adorable music.

78.   Pokémon Square â€" Pokémon Mystery Dungeon brought something new to the table. As such, it also brought a new composer, Arata Iiyoshi, who brought very neat music into our worlds. Pokémon Square is the main plaza, with all sorts of hustle and bustle as Pokémon shop and converse.

79.   Great Canyon â€" my personal favorite track from the first PMD. It has a very mysterious and soothing feel to it…I believe I’ve described it as sounding like “some ancient waltz.”

80.   Sky Tower â€" just…epic. The whole premise, the whole story, it’s just…epic. And the music definitely reflects that.

81.   Pokémon Exploration Team Theme (PMD EoS) â€" gives that valiant and adventurous spirit needed to fully enjoy the second PMD series…such a pity this was only in Explorers of Sky.

82.   Treasure Town â€" such a cute little town! And it needs cute music to match! An Irish-sounding introduction with a quirky and cute melody immediately following.

83.   Spinda’s Café â€" My personal favorite piece from any PMD game. Spinda is my favorite Pokémon, and this theme fits him so well. Very off balance and quirky, but still kind of catchy and weirdly compelling.

84.   Foggy Forest â€" the insistent pounding in the background is complemented by a mysterious overlying melody. Very spooky, very good.

85.   Through the Sea of Time â€" one of the best pieces in any game ever. If you haven’t heard this tiny 1 minute piece yet, go listen. You won’t be disappointed.

86.   Littleroot Town â€" this theme gave Littleroot Town a “homey” feeling that Twinleaf could never hope to achieve. I love it.

87.   Pokémon Center (RS) â€" the second Pokémon Center on the list (and also the final one), this remix is more technical and very different. It’s my favorite of the Pokémon Center versions.

88.   Battle! Trainer (RS) â€" my least favorite of all the Pokémon Trainer battle themes. Kind of meh in most aspects, but still good enough to get it a spot here.

89.   Battle! Team Magma/Team Aqua â€" what Ruby and Sapphire lack in Trainer battle music, they make up for in evil team music. The Magma/Aqua battle theme is really great (can you tell I’m kind of running out of things to say about these by now?).

90.   Route 119 â€" my third favorite route music. Really adventurous and fast and generally exciting. Has a contemporary melody that I like a lot.

91.   Fortree City â€" a mellow theme, really good, perfect for a treehouse village or your private room to yourself.

92.   Lilycove City â€" a bouncy seaside waltz that sounds like a quaint shopping district. Very nostalgic and cleverly written.

93.   Sootopolis City â€" ah! Here we areâ€"my favorite Ruby/Sapphire town music. The careless swing and effortlessly sleek feel to Sootopolis’s theme is just amazing. I love it.

94.   Ever Grande City â€" how’s this for nostalgia? Wonderful. Very bittersweet.

95.   Contest! (RS) â€" I arranged this theme because I liked it so muchâ€"I have a newfound “respect” for it. It’s very neat and sounds like it should.

96.   Victory Road (RS) â€" the dangerous Victory Road in Hoenn was the hardest one of all in my opinion. And the music (which also plays inside the Pokémon League) really reflects that.

97.   Decisive Battle! Steven Stone â€" The dramatic finale to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Immediately following the initial shock at meeting the distinguished and somewhat nerdy man from a side quest way earlier on in the game in the Champion’s room, this battle music starts off with a frightening pace and doesn’t stop. Perfect for the battle against Steven. (Oddly enough, I never got the same feel with Wallace)

98.   Ending (RS) â€" probably the most contrast in Champion Battle to Credits. What a fantastic piece. Pretty, quietly shining, and simple, this is my favorite ending theme to a Pokémon game, with the Gold/Silver credits slightly behind.

99.   Meeting Place (Pokepark Wii) â€" Okay, I had to use something from this game because it was so shockingly fun. And this is a simple piece but still nice. Probably 100th if I were to put them in order, but still.

100.   Ranger School â€" Here’s my one song from Ranger. All the innocence of being a child is here, as well as some adventurousness and valiance. Very fitting for a Pokémon game.

Well there’s my list. I really am happy with my choices. Please read if you have time and let me know if you agree with my choices!

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

I liked the Village Bridge music too. Very calming. Same with Canalave City.

SlowPokemon

The Village Bridge was on my list originally, but as my original list was 170~ songs, I had to make a few cuts.

Not really. I only had 19 BW songs here. I had mostly Kanto songs and Johto songs. Also I never cared for that theme. XD it was a neat arrangement though. I like the original version better.

HOW IS THE POKEMON SEASON 1 THEME SONG NOT NUMBER ONE ON THIS LIST?

Quote from: Mashi on March 26, 2013, 05:54:37 PMAfter viewing both FMA:Brotherhood and Naruto Shippuden, it would be frivolous to even consider watching an anime as unbearably mediocre as Melancholy. NARUTOxHINATA 4 LYFE!!!

SlowPokemon

A) this list is in no particular order because it would be too hard to put them in order
B) I was going by strictly games only, not the anime. It is a good song though.
