Cause he has amazing potential. Not to mention it's not that common for opponents to carry Bug, Poison, or Flying to counter it.

Golbat: Never liked him/her (or just him?)
Crobat: Epic. Ever since I found out that you could evolve him without trading, I have loved him. The first times against the E4 was annoying though, all the poison :/
