Because it can do 1080p, and it was advertized better, and Blue Ray sounds way cooler than hd-dvd

I don't think I'll buy a PS3 anytime soon.  It's just too expensive and the only game i really want to play is FF13 when it comes out.  So I think ill just buy the game and find a friend who has a PS3.

The models are changing very fast and what do you need all that space in a standard model for anyway? Also, there are almost no exclusives for the PS3 yet.

I have a PS3, and its pretty good overall, but the only good games on it are Assasins creed and the ratchet and clank game
