Will my dreams FINALLY come true? If this comes out someday, I want a MUCH BIGGER Orre map (the one from Colosseum/XD  was really little!   :P) and all the 649 pokemon, YAY!!!! And sequel, not port... (if you think about it, it´s almost imposible to include all 649 in a port...)
Anyways, what do you think? Do you think this could happen? Nintendo said that a new Pokémon game was going to be announced soon, could this be the new one??

This pics are from a japanese magazine (obviously  :P) and a little blurry, but... wait, is that Agate Village?

if this game is going to serve the same general purpose as colosseum and XD, I would imagine that it would have pokemanz from generation 3 or 4 and below. if they were to include Gen 5 as snaggable or some other variation, I'd imagine they'd have them with dream world abilities or something. I hope they keep double battles to a minimum as they slowed down the game a bit for me.

I loved Colusseum... xD I think the Double Battles were interesting and the main challenge of the game actually, but it would go faster without them. Perhaps they're making it with Triple Battles, to emphasize them, like they used Colusseum to emphasize Double Battles back when they were new.

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

Wow. Didn't know that such a small unit as the 3DS could support this:

Consider this for a second: There are over seven hundred Pokémon forms, all in all. Granted, most Pokémon have only one form, and most of the gender differences are texture only, but there are still about 700 3D models to consider. All of which need animation, which already makes up a huge amount of data. For example, Pokémon Colosseum had animations for when a Pokémon is sent out, an idle animation, one for when it faints, is hit, uses a contact move (tackling), uses a slashing or punching move, uses a special move, and probably one or two I might have forgotten.

Then the moves. 559 in total, give or take a few which may have similar animations that can be reused. Weather conditions are usually rendered two-dimensonally. Still, there is some amount of data in this too, and yet we still haven't started on textures, locations, other characters, etc. A Wii can handle this, and the GameCube could as well, but when you shrink it all into a 3DS? Somehow, I don't believe we'll see full 3D for a handheld Pokémon game just yet. I'd gladly be wrong, though...

Yes, I'm still around from time to time. For quicker response, you can reach me by PM, or drop by Smogon to say hi. I go by "Codraroll" there, because of a bet.

I don't think that the 3DS was the same price as a Wii for nothing.

Hopefully they can pull this off, though.
It's dangerous to go alone, take me with you! [JUB has joined the party.]

You´re absolutely right! Cobra´s right too, though, but c´mon, it´s Nintendo! They´ll find the way!  ;D
Or at least, that´s what I think, since I always wanted Nintendo to bring back Cipher...  :-\

If you think about it, BW is the exact same way. Just a little less...complex. And that was for the REGULAR ds. They'll pull it off.

There is a HUGE difference in data amount from animated 2D sprites and fully rendered 3D models. While they can be reused, even the textures for each model require more space and effort than 2D sprites. And with 3D models, it's the geometry that takes up space, not the textures.

However, I do believe that the game itself could be pulled off in 3D, with battles and Pokémon in animated 2D (like in B/W, only a little more complex). With various filters, the difference isn't too glaring.

I really hope they're made because I never got experience the Game Cube :'( But a 3DS should be able to do it. Ninetndo will just spread some of their magic on it and it will work. Also I heard that a 3DS has they same capabilities of a Game Cube so ... maybe
