I stick to feraligatr! seriously, they can kill almost all pokemons directly =D Except for red's pokemons in crystal, the gyarados in the final four is the only pokemon in the game I can't kill in one hit! (Maybe Lugia too)

Fire types can kill almost every Pokémon in one hit. Same with Grass types. Depends on how you train them.

Thanks. For a moment there I was worried, though. I almost needed to blow you.

SuperFireKirby

My first starter was actually Charmander. But then I did a playthough of Blue with Squirtle and realized how much BETTER it was. I also picked Totodile in Gold because it's just so darn cute.

My opinion on starters (basically my favorites) by region (with my biased Grass-type views--I can't help it that to me Grass types are so appealing and adorable):

Kanto
Charmander < Squirtle < Bulbasaur

Johto
Cyndaquil < Totodile < Chikorita

Hoenn
Mudkip = Torchic < Treecko

Sinnoh
Chimchar < Piplup < Turtwig

Unova
Tepig < Oshawott < Snivy

Up until the relatively recent unveiling of the starters' evolutions, I preferred Tepig to Oshawott... but... seriously... Tepig's evolutions are a severe disappointment. >:P Other than Hoenn, though, my choices have a clear pattern.

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

I mean the pokemons that are BOTH water and ice. Ice takes care of the ones that water can't. Which leaves water as the only "not effective" type against that pokemon. And for that you have an electric =D

SlowPokemon

Water-Ice types can be bulky, but seriously. They aren't gods of Pokemon. The one thing Pokemon stresses more than anything else (besides commercialism) is that there is no universally strong Pokemon.

You can argue all day about your favorite Mewtwo, but face it against a good Dark or Bug and it's done for. Praise your never-failing Blissey all you want, but OHKO from Heracross doesn't look good on a permanent record. Your favorite type combination can be Water-Ice all day long, but there's always a big, bad Jolteon waiting to zap it with a Thunderbolt down the road. Jigglypuff can be the cutest thing in the world and still be one hell of a fail Pokemon.

That's what makes Pokemon nerds so compelled to be around each other--the endless arguments. Best ever.

BTW, moveset ideas for my Spinda I am raising in SS?

Lv40
Quirky Nature
Quick-tempered (or another attack-developing trait, I forget)
I gave it max Protein, max Carbos
Moves:
Dizzy Punch
Psycho Cut (bred with Kadabra)
Sucker Punch
Teeter Dance

Note, no moves are final--give any suggestions you want

Note 2: "Get a better Pokemon" is not a suggestion. (looks at DrPamplemousse)

Sucker Punch especially of the STAB variety.

about that Spinda, if you're feeling lucky you could try this set

Spinda @ Muscle Band/Focus Sash/Life Orb
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swagger
- Psych Up
- Return/Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch/Baton Pass

the idea is to swagger to increase their attack and then psych up to copy the stat change and hope they get confused in the turns it takes to set up. Return is for a good STAB move or you could use Drain punch with a Life Orb attached. Sucker Punch is for any Ghosts that would wall you otherwise or you could baton pass the +2 atk to someone else who could use it. Focus Sash is an option if you feel that Spinda might get KO'd too quickly and will guarantee a swagger.

Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread completely.  :P

Also, there's something about the metagame... that I just can't master.
After I put together a good 3-person team on PO, I'd gladly EV train that team and go for 100 straight wins at the battle tower.

But that dream seems so far away...

And so far, I've picked one water type and one grass type starter. Although I seem to favor grass types more...
If I get LG, Bulbasaur is my choice (because my brothers got the other two), and Torchic (same reason) for Emerald if I ever get it.

Then, Pokabu for gen V. That would tie Fire and Grass, but I just said grass for the poll.
It's dangerous to go alone, take me with you! [JUB has joined the party.]

dahans

I have always picked the water type. It all started when my sister got Pokemon Red and I got Pokemon blue. That's why I always stick with water starters. WATER FTW! :D
Check out my arrangements! I mean it! Check them out!

Pokemon Online. Shoddy Battle.

If you haven't already, download it. Right now. So we can battle. :)

It basically is like Pokemon games, except you can choose your Pokemon's attacks and such without having to train them.

There's, like, a million different pokemon online games when I searched. Think you can link me up with the right one, brochacho?

Indeed, now we need to battle. I have an all-Spinda team that lost to Shado's all Dunsparce team the other day. xD
