Bulbasaur, probably. Treecko was my first, but Bulbasaur was just so awesome. Chikorita is good too, but is pretty slow and I think Venusaur is so much cooler.

Turtwig holds a special place in my heart as my first Sinnoh starter, and I really like it as well. Snivy? ...Only time will tell.

I rather would pick Totodile, but he wasn't in, so I picked Treecko since he is my second favorite starter

Once a Torterra, he can crush all other starters with his mighty Leaf Storm/ Earthquake Combo.  Plus first sinnoh starter.

Torterra only gets a neutral hit on Empoleon with leaf storm. Infernape is faster than Torterra and can strike hard at it's lower special defense if needed. Infernape can take down an Empoleon with STAB fighting moves.

Empoleon can hit a Torterra with 4x weak Ice Beam or Blizzard.

The Sinnoh starters seem to be able to counter each other.

And who wouldn't teach it Earthquake or Earth Power for a Special attacker???
