Wow in all four Generations of Pokemon, we still enjoy The originals, and their remakes more than anything.

Now let's figure out which one was the best

Well, of all of those, the least good were the original Red Blue Yellow. Seriously, that's just my opinion.

Next least would be HeartGold and SoulSilver. They were great games, but still... They brought Gen IV into the mix, and I myself preferred the originals.

Next, Gold and Silver. They are great games. Probably most peoples' favorites of the series.

My favorite, though, and the one that I voted for, would be FireRed and LeafGreen. Of those choices, they are the only ones which I can clearly remember my first times playing them (besides HGSS of course). I got LeafGreen before I got Blue or Red, and even so I liked these better. They were just great games in my opinion, and since they don't include many non-Kanto Pokemon other than Gen II, they are awesome. The only way to obtain Hoenn Pokemon is by the Sevii Islands quest, and truthfully you really only need Hoenn Pokemon in RSE. That's the reasons that I like these the best of the four (though not best overall).
