...but with the number of Hoenn Pokemon on the UU tier, inevitably, you'll have teams that are very similar/extremely alike (for refrence, there are only about 8 Hoenn Pokemon on Smogon's UU tier list, unless you count those of lower tiers).

Yeah. We'd all have similar or identical teams and it's ridiculously limited. It has nothing to do with "challenge."

The thing I really won't like is that everybody will have a MoxieMence or OHKOing Specs Latios with Draco Meteor. I really hope to see some originality with your teams people!

Ok, I'll make it an OU tournament, but I doubt that you'll have much difference with your teams.

Hmm... here's what I think:
You should ban all Pokemon that appear in the Uber tier, even if they are a part of another tier; this would include (but not limited to) Pokemon such as Latios/Latias, Gorebyss (which ranges from NU to Uber), Salamence, and Speed Boost Blaziken.
You should, though, allow Pokemon that are in lower tiers (although you may not want to use some ).

Is Soul Dew banned (I think it should be, or else Latios/Latias function as Ubers)?

And you can use Pokemon from any tier?
