I've thought a little about some kinds of moves and items we might see in gen. V:

Choice Lens: Same as Choice Band/Specs/Scarf, but improves Accuracy rather than offense/speed. Be prepared to face more Hydro Pump, Thunder, Cross Chop, Stone Edge, Focus Blast, etc. than earlier. Any defensive Choice items would be conter-productive, as no defensive moves are spammable, and the purpose of Choice items is "Hit'n'run".

Fire priority move: Would spell demise for Scizor, Ninjask, Weavile and a lot of other fast but frail attackers. Especially Scizor.

Ice/Electric-type Hyper Beams: We've got one of many types (Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Rock, Dragon, and Normal again), and it would only be natural to assume that more will follow.

A stronger Dark-type move: Come on, the strongest one yet has Base Power 80. That being said, Assurance, Payback, Fling and Punishment can have base powers of 100, 100, 130 and 200, respectively, given the right conditions.

A new Pokemon was leaked : A kind of caterpillar, probably going to be like Caterpie/Weedle.

Oh, great. Another clone. Caterpie, Weedle, those are okay. Wurmple made me frown. This one even more. It seems like odd-numbered generations feature three-stage evolution bugs, while even-numbered generations feature two-stage evolutions.

That being said, while unoriginal, I find this new bug cute. Guess it is its simplistic design.

So far I like the 5 gen 'mons. And who knows, maybe this bug Pokemon won't be a clone; it may have different moves/typing.

They've announced Victini's type - Psychic/Fire. Weird combo, but a cool one. It also has an ability called Victory Star.
