Quote from: Jub3r7 on June 08, 2015, 11:15:53 PMI completed all the regional dex in Y and now I can't find my Y game. I'm trying not to think too hard about the pokemon trapped inside, and the memories we had together.
Same with me and my Platnium game (it was my first Pokemon game as well :'(

I'd damn near finished my national dex in Pearl a couple years ago (the most recent addition having been porygon-Z which I'd just spent a shitload of time in leaf green farming the casino for the porygon), then some fucker in band borrowed my DS on the bus and lost my game. ON A BUS. IT WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

To this day I've never again felt compelled to complete a pokedex.

Ouch, that hurts.

My wartortle died so I quit the nuzlocke because I spent way too much time grinding it for it to die to a crit Thrash from a gyara 10 levels below it
I mean I still had other pokemon but they were only like level 25 or 26 and it would have taken way too much time to find another good one to replace it

So recently I picked up a Dragonite code during my trip to the nearby city, and today I was about to redeem it before suddenly remembering why I can't stand ORAS due to many reasons, but I won't go into them here since it always seems I'm the only one with that opinion regarding ORAS.

I'm honestly not sure if I want to redeem the code or not, since I probably won't do anything with it anyway since there's nothing to do after the Delta Episode. I went to regionals a while ago and lost horribly, and I'm still furious about how there won't be any more Video Game events that I can attend for at least a year.

It seems that my time at regionals was the best time I had playing ORAS period, which I'm not sure is a good thing since I spent about 80 hours getting bored before then. In RS I'd always go to the Game Corner, Battle Tower or the contests, but the Game Corner and the Battle Tower are gone and the contests are incredibly easy, so I'm just really, really bored. This ia coming from a long time fan that completed the National Dex in X, so if I'm unable to be entertained by a main series game I don't know what to do. I really, really want to sell it but the exclusive mega evolutions and the fact that it's the only game allowed in Play Pokemon for this year and next year make me unable to.

...So I guess what I'm saying is, what should I do in ORAS to keep me entertained, give me a good challenge and keep me occupied for the summer? Everything I had fun with in Emerald and RS was either removed for no reason or made incredibly easy. Please tell me you can rematch trainers at level 80 or something like that in a place besides the Elite Four (And I'm not even sure if they are level 80.), as I'm unsure what to do until the next tournament rolls around...

^ I'll take that code if you don't want it. But yeah, for Gen 6 pretty much the only reason I pick up any of the games is when I wanna do multiplayer. I completed X/Y at least, but in Omega Ruby, after I got the Mega Bracelet I just stopped going through the main game after that lol.

I dunno, since you can't go to regionals/locals or something iirc, then maybe just try joining some online community for some battles? Like NuggetBridge, Smogon, GameFAQs, etc.

I've put more hours on Omega Ruby than anything since Black, I'm at about 150 hours or so. Completing the DexNav is really fun, because post game adds a ton of newer Pokémon. You could try your hand at EV training too, though be warned that its very addictive.

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

Altissimo

I'm on a Quest to complete the Omega Ruby Pokédex using only Pokémon obtained in my copies of Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, and X. So no Pokébank transfers and no getting starters or legends through GTS or anything (with the exception of Yveltal and other Y-exclusives).

I shouldn't really call it a Quest though because it's almost done. It's a living Pokédex, and I'm only missing the following Pokémon:
Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox
Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise
Zapdos
Mew
Jirachi
Shaymin
Darkrai
Phione/Manaphy
Arceus
Keldeo
Victini
Genesect
Meloetta
Hoopa
Volcanion

... except I'm currently replaying X to get the Squirtle and Fennekin lines and Zapdos, and I have all the event legends except for Hoopa and Volcanion somewhere in my games (I completed the 'dex back in Platinum and managed to actually obtain all the event legends through legitimate events that occurred in the gen 4 days) so I'm almost done with the non-event-legend part, and I'll be able to transfer the events if I want, but I'm hoping for more gen 6 events because I want all the Pokémon I get to be from gen 6 originally.

Platinum and OR are the only Pokédexes I've (almost) completed in main series games, but I also have all the Pokémon in Mystery Dungeon Blue and the three Ranger games. I used to have all the mons in Sky but I've since deleted that file.

Dex Nav was only useful in getting me the Lucky Egg for Regionals grinding. I did try EV training a Salamence but it took ages, I got incredibly bored and while it IS a super powerful Pokemon I also have a Clefable that I didn't EV Train that is just as good due to Follow Me. I also trained a Noivern without EVs and it's super strong due to that Special Attack choice item you get. I'm honestly not sure if there are any CPUs I can face besides the E4 though that provides a legitimate challenge. (Battle Test/Resort are not legitimate to me, due to the crazy luck that the randomly generated CPUs get that lead to cheap losses. Critical hit Rock Blast on all hits is one example... Plus you can't get experience there anyway.)

Well you're probably SOL then!! I love all of those things that you don't. You could try Pokémon Contests, I haven't done that yet.

EV training is practically mandatory to win any serious pokemon competition nowadays. Plus, X and Y and ORAS made it ridiculously easy with horde battles and super training.

what makes it incredibly easy is the macho items

if you want to avoid "AI hax" just lead with substitute.  Blocks all the haxy moves then you can sweep.  I use Raikou for that.

contests are a lot easier than they used to be imo, but they're still hella fun and you get a mega stone for doing them all iirc
