Is it really worth it? I'm lazy and I don't feel like getting it, but if you say it's awesome then I guess I could try it out.

Thanks. For a moment there I was worried, though. I almost needed to blow you.

SlowPokemon

Yeah it's cool.

Limited though.

You're right, why not. I'll get it when I get back home then.

Ok, so I have an interesting idea for a Pokemon...
Taloraptor
Taloraptor: Dark/Ice - Frozen Raptor Pokemon
Base Stats:
HP: 100
Atk: 100
Def: 100
SpA: 100
SpD: 100
Spe: 100
(standard fare for Pokemon of its category)

Ability: Bide Rush; for every opponent it moves after, its attack is raised one stage.
Signature Move: Claw Charge (Dark type-special); if it moves before the opponent, it adds the move's power to this attack's power.
[close]

As you can see, its ability and signature move completely contradict; if one activates, the other cannot be used, and visa-versa. Thus, I imagine two possible competitive strategies for Taloraptor. For both, at best, it would like to have some sort of hail support from Abomasnow, although it is in a lower tier than OU/Uber, so it might not be helpful or smart to have aside from the purpose of adding hail to the battlefield.

Set 1; Ability "Leecher," Slow and Bulky
Item: Lagging Tail (??)
Ability: Bide Rush
Nature: Brave

EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Def (or SpD)

Moves:
~ Night Slash
~ Crunch
~ Dragon Tail
~ Close Combat

If Taloraptor survives an attack, it can turn around and decimate its opponent with Night Slash or Crunch; a rather destructive attack, in combination with the ability, would be Dragon Tail. Due to this relatively wide range, anything not strong enough to OHKO it will pay the price.

Set 2; Fast and Hard Special Striker
Item: ??
Ability: Speed Boost (would this be a good idea ._.)
Nature: Jolly or Adamant

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Moves:
~ Claw Charge
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Ice Beam
~ Protect

This provides a counter for Latios/Latios, Dragon-types, and even Psychic types. If Claw Charge is used on a Terrakion using Close Combat, after a speed boost, it would, despite the resistance, reach 200 base power (assuming Claw Charge's base power was 80).

I am terribly sorry if you feel as if I am intruding on this thread, but I am interested in the limits and possibilities of competitive battling...

Please, somebody hit me with a wet noodle. I can't stop coming up with new Fakemon ideas.

A rubber hose might be better
Here's the current new lineup:
  • Alternate "la brea" Grimer evolution (based on the concept I found on the Internet and posted here); trade when holding Fossil Bit
  • Alternate "tribal" Koffing evolution; trade when holding Fossil Bit
  • Single staged Steel/Dragon "wire dragon"
  • Single staged Ghost/Dragon "coffin snake"
  • Single staged Grass/Ice (or Grass/Fire??) Potpourri Pokemon called Potpounin
  • Unown-like Dark/Psychic symbol Pokemon, Symbolen

I have just evolved my Timburr into Gurdurr in Pokemon Black and White 1.

Should I evolve it into Conkeldurr now? Or wait a bit.

Cobraroll

Put it this way: Do you really have any reasons not to?

Gurdurr and Conkeldurr grow just as fast (experience-wise). They learn the same moves at the same levels. All of Conkeldurr's stats are higher than Gurdurr's. Unless you really, really need a bulky Fight-type (Gurdurr holding Eviolite), you have no reason not to evolve it.
Emergence - a story exclusive to NSM

Yes, I'm still around from time to time. For quicker response, you can reach me by PM, or drop by Smogon to say hi. I go by "Codraroll" there, because of a bet.

SlowPokemon

Eh sometimes with those I keep it at stage 2 for a while just so it blends better with my other "teenage" Pokemon.
