I think in solo runs, you generally don't evolve them. That's the purpose and adds to the challenge.

I saw a Hoppip only run once. When you see a Hoppip take down Red, you're just like daaaaaamn

I guess it depends on the person... I dunno, to me, evolving them would make things easier since they get stronger and potentially better movepools. But that's just me.

In a solo run, are you allowed to send out your hm slave to give you a turn to revive your fainted solo Pokemon or is that cheating?
