What I was hoping for was the trainer and wild pokemon battles from the anime version to
be arranged.

You got further then I did, I gave up after the first 7 bars (but then again, I am quite lazy ). It sounds pretty good. One thing I would have done is move the right hand melody up an octave (at least at the beginning anyway). This leaves room to put the full chords in the left hand rather than just 1 or 2 notes. Also, some of the notes are a bit off here and there but most of it seems to fit together ok.

You are right I should have added a percussion line. It would have made it "boppy".

its meant to be in Eb Major not D major.
Maybe make the Melody in R.H. stacatto/accent?   
Second note (in R.H.) is meant to be D (in Eb Major version) not Bb. Have another listen to the Video again.
