In my opinion, if a topic is doomed to die, then it'll die. Telling someone "this topic is stupid" does less good than just choosing not to post in it. If other "____ of the Day" topics spring up, time will tell if people are actually interested in them or not.

I was actually thinking about including a bit about "of course, that doesn't mean anyone's allowed to spam," but I assumed everyone would be smart enough to know that's against the rules anyway.
