Absolutely, the 3ds has a great library.

Yes. Just remember ebay, craigslist, gamestop, and other local game stores are much better for buying used games.
And, if Xenoblade Chronicles 3D sounds good, it might be a good option to skip the standard and go to the newest version, but that might not be the most price efficient method

Remember, if you get a 3DS from Craigslist, meet in a public place and test it. Make sure it works before buying it, obviously. It's much easier to do with a handheld than a console.

except for the trolls who say they'll buy everything but never say when/where they want to meet

idk, except for the rare cases of people just not knowing the value of things or rarer items without a lot of listings, I generally find Amazon is the best place to buy and sell things used.  Convenient and has plenty of buyer protections.

Regarding this discussion, I've always wanted a motorcycle.
