I was historically also pretty lucky.  I guess that's where all my luck went in later years...

dunno what you guys are talking about
(Of course I was usually the one who won all the minigames, got all the ooins, bought the most stars, and got the minigame bonus star at the end...)

I got really annoyed at my cousin saying she has to be the princess (Peach) among other things. It was her stupid tone.

Prom Spending Drops to Slightly Less Absurd Amount. Wtf you guys stop and just give whoever you were going to ask out that almost $1000. I spent only $30 and I thought that was a rip off...sheesh, save for money for the better things in life -.-

I seem to be missing a piece of my ear.

FierceDeity

i don't even wanna talk about the amount of physical harm that's come to me playing mario party with my older brothers

For my mini prom I spent ~$400, and that's probably exaggerating. I don't think I'm going to go too much over that for the next prom, and I don't see how you can (as long as your dress isn't ridiculous)

edit: wait how did you get away with only spending $30

Ruto

Borrowed an outfit, didn't do much with hair and makeup, took the train to the place using my school train pass, didn't have a date, didn't ask anyone to go anyway (so no pitching woo or buying presents)...lol. The $30 was the price everyone paid to rent the place and food. Half my friends didn't even go.

I seem to be missing a piece of my ear.

So I was using the search feature to see if I had posted something already, and I came upon this...

Spoiler

I think that's about right (no pun intended), although I feel my results would've been different had the answers had "neither agree nor disagree" as an option.

Well, now to post what I came here for; studying about the Cold War (again) reminded me of a joke I heard:

Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, and Gorbachev are riding in a train across the Soviet Union, when suddenly, the train stops.
Lenin says to the others "I know how to solve our problem," and goes to the cab, lecturing the engineer on the wonders of communism and the importance of duty to one's country. He then returns to his seat; however, the train still has not moved.
Stalin says to the others "I will handle this," and goes to the cab and shoots the engineer. He then returns to his seat; however, the train still has not moved.
Khrushchev says to the others "Violence is not the answer," and goes to the cab. He props the engineer's body at the controls and then returns to his seat; however, the train still has not moved.
Brezhnev says to the others "Let us close the curtains and pretend that we are moving!" They proceed to do this, and remark on how quiet the ride is; however, the train still has not moved.
Finally, Gorbachev climbs out the window and stands on the roof of the train, shouting to all the passengers, "Look, everybody! The train is not moving!" The passengers are thrilled with their leader's honesty.

The train, however, has still not moved.
And the moral of the story: Quit while you're a head.

The moral of this story is that Russia/USSR's leaders have always been terribly inefficient.

Oh, my presence was talked about! And then I left again!

...except I would not really call it leaving, though. I've been to Singapore for a week as a school trip (university is kind of awesome. When they do excursions, they do it properly). Now I have a week of vacation after the school stuff is done, and I've just arrived in Kuala Lumpur and finally found a hotel with good wi-fi. It's weird how warm the rain is down here. It's almost like showering with your clothes on, instead of the freezing sky-water I'm used to from up North.

Oh, and happy 10-year anniversary, NSM!

Yes, I'm still around from time to time. For quicker response, you can reach me by PM, or drop by Smogon to say hi. I go by "Codraroll" there, because of a bet.

The tropics are weird like that. What I found amazing is how the sun hangs about in the middle of the sky all day, the plummets in an hour around 6. It'd be sunny, then suddenly you couldn't see what you're putting in your mouth. Quite disorientating.

PAX South has been confirmed to debut in 2015 in my lovely home city of San Antonio, TX. I may actually go to a convention next year.

Unless I wait until the last minute it shouldn't be that much of an issue. I don't know why I wouldn't be getting my passes on day 1 if I planned on going.
