Err, what other "cures" would there be? There's correction therapy, but the methods those employ are usually extremely immoral, run by nonprofessionals, and cause a lot of physiological damage. Professionals (read: doctors) would never offer any solutions other than surgery. Don't get the wrong idea though, there's a huge multi-year long pre-op that involves a lot of stuff to ensure no one goes into reassignment surgery without knowing for sure that they want it first.
