Metroid Prime is a pretty great game, but I've heard the rest in the Prime series get successively terrible

True. Never terrible, but 1 is easily the best. I'd also recommend getting 2, as it has its great moments, but skipping 3.

Dragon Quest VIII! Quite awesome so far ^^

but as with all dragon quest games the soundtrack can get cringy. it has beautiful moments but those are quickly juxtaposed with chromatic jerks that just leave a "what the heck?" feeling in me. that and it seems that the overworld only has one background track.

Great, traditionally perfected gameplay though!~
