Dozing Sands Secret

• 1st system all of the dynamics could go a bit lower to the center of between the staffs. The m2 piano dynamic could go a bit to the right so it is centered between the noteheads.
• Same commentary about moving more to the center applies for the m29/final system
• The tempo is also a bit odd in size and appearance, maybe you could just copy the style from the default Finale tempo using engraver size 12? And just as a note from the recently posted formatting guidelines  we are kindly requesting Maestro font for sheets, don't have to do that for this sheet but if it's not too much to ask for sheets going forward to utilize the stylings of newer templates, both in note fonts and general aesthetics
• m6 and m14 RH beats 4.0-4.5 lower layer, hearing the flute/marimba Bb as an An, A as a G. I think these represent the chords here more accurately. I do think also that beat 3.5 would be a bit more accurate as either a G or D. The chord formed on beat 3.5 the flute and marimba part here is G minor
• m9 and m17 4.5 lower layer similar to previous point hearing this A as a G, but if you want to keep a somewhat parallel movement maybe you could right this as a C?
• m21 not sure I agree with the forte dynamic here as the volume of this part isn't that high to start. I think maybe bring this down to mp, and you could add a cresc. that extends to an mf or forte at the beginning of m23. Similarly, you could add an mp and cresc. to m25 extending to an mf/f in m27.
• m24 RH the dotted half note hearing an F# under the A

• This sheet seems to be using some non-standard notation settings, could you load this library file over it in Document Options? You can ignore the error warning if there is one.
• The note in your tempo marking is a little small, you could try size 16. Alternatively, you could use the recommended set of fonts: MaestroTimes size 16 for the note, Times New Roman size 12 for the rest
• m4 beat 4: You can write these rests in the RH as a dotted eighth
• m1 beat 2.5, m2 beat 2.5: Thoughts on adding staccato to instances like these? This last note sounds snappier
• Opening dynamic could be centered more nicely
• m5-8: If you want you could add staccatos to the first 2 notes in the RH. Yes, they are technically sustained, but the instrumentation makes them sound snappier also
• The 8va on the 3rd system could be moved down slightly, and on the fourth system up slightly
• Would m13-14 make more sense as 2 measures of 3/4?

Since I am currently unable to load the library file Xiao sent and I don't know what it was supposed to fix, so I can't do it manually, I'm not going to update the files on Dropbox yet, but I have made the edits. I only have a couple comments in regards to Xiao's comments.

m4 beat 4: You can write these rests in the RH as a dotted eighth

I was taught to only use dotted rests in compound time, and even if that's wrong, I find the visually unappealing in simple time. Unless this is a requirement, I would rather keep it as an eighth and a sixteenth.

Would m13-14 make more sense as 2 measures of 3/4?

I disagree. The stressed beats in the accompaniment and the melody seem to indicate a measure of 4/4, then a measure of 2/4.

I also attempted to fix the tempo marking to MaestroTimes, but I couldn't get it to work for a couple reasons. I have downloaded the most recent template, though, so any future arrangements should be correct. I don't like that you can't copy and paste an expression between files without copying the measure. I did adjust it so that it at least looks accurate to how it should.

I went to your file and in this second Tempo Marks category that pops up, you can change the note font to MaestroTimes (and Times New Roman for the number and = sign)

I know where it is, it wouldn't let me change the note font to MaestroTimes. This was made using an older template file which has a different set of fonts available. I could copy and paste it to the new template file, but I think that would ruin all the formatting that's been done.

What Finale version are you using, out of curiosity? Opening and editing the same file worked fine for me

After some testing, I realized that copying the files into the new template only led to minimal errors that needed fixing. So I have updated both sheet so they should now match the current standards based on the current sheet template, including the right fonts for the tempo markings.
