Overall, this game was pretty lukewarm and I think we all acknowledge this.  I know a noticeable portion of our new playerbase is still starting to get into things and I'm super happy to see you all playing your best.  I'm not going to do the normal size analysis for postgame, but would like to make a few notes.
-This was Kaiveran's game in every sense of the phrase and as such is the clear MVP.  You certainly deserved your win with the effort you put in.
-BDS, davy, and FireArrow, you guys have been around for a while and you know how this game works.  Please keep playing!
-SYG and N1P2, I want to see you guys making more mistakes.  Get mislynched constantly.  You're allowed to get better.  I sure did.
-Voozio, Blinky, FG, and leetic, thanks for joining the game, and you are more than welcome to host or play in any games you so desire here.  This invitation extends to everyone, so don't be shy.  Unless you are ShyYoshiGuy, in which case you can be shy.

That's the first time I was ever killed N1 lol. GG scum

In all seriousness, thanks to everyone for playing this game. Once it got going it was actually plenty fun. It made me feel like a no-responsibility teen again, lol. I lost every single game I was scum in back on the dearly departed TWG forums of Last Life, so this victory is especially satisfying. Definitely some room to improve, though.

The only significant thing about my play that I haven't explained (I think) was that I was in no way banking on the N1P2 quicklynch. It just kinda snowballed out of FireArrow's suspicion. This game would have been a lot different if we had gone with the straightforward option and lynched Shy. N1P2 would have counterclaimed me and simplified Day 3 to a 1v1, and on the very real chance that I lost that battle, there would have been a 1/3 chance that we lost outright from N1P2 nicking davy's kill, and a 2/3 chance of davy fighting another 1v1 in LyLo versus either Funny or BDS. Which wouldn't have been easy.

I think the lessons to be learned here are never to tolerate lynches without a claim, and to a lesser extent any EoD scrambles.

well, right now I see you guys playing a bit on the safe side.  I want you two to grow comfortable playing in a forum style and for that to happen you definitely have to learn by trial and error what works for you and what doesnt.

FireArrow

Yeah, I used my shortage of time to justify that and it really wasnt an excuse. No reason for humans to last minute bs like that without a new development and there definitly wasnt any of that so mb.

@n1p1 You learn by making mistakes, not by being afraid of them. Play agressive and confidently, risk killing a bunch of humans and game throwing, risk having people suspicious because of the mistakes you make.

Also player commentary from my memory cuz I think it makes people more excited to play again:

1. ShyYoshiGuy: Sorry if I came across a bit mean, I'd like nothing more for you to keep playing and improving! I think I already gave you the most important advice in the discord so I'll just say it again. You played this game like a last man standing free-for-all. As a human your primary goal is to find the wolves, staying alive is only secondary to that. It's worth dying if it means catching a wolf and living is not worth letting a wolf go.

3. davy- Normal Wolf
I know it was out of your control and mostly to do with this game taking way too long to start, but yeah that was lame. Only way humans could of caught you is PoE or lynching inactives. The former is impossible since NSM always has a lot of new players who are gonna grab attention and the latter is just a lazy and not fun way to play.

4. BlackDragonSlayer- Vanilla Human
You human read both wolves and only suspected humans but you still played pretty logically. Would of been nice to see you hold your aggression a bit more - you took action based on your suspicions but didn't really make anything happen after stating them once.

5. Kaiveran- Normal Wolf
Obvious MVP obvious. I guess there were a few hindsight mistakes but you played very clean. Only critique is you were a bit "try hard", like that last phase you could of just voted shy and won without doing much else but you took the risk of more elaborate and imo unnecessary plans. But hey makes it a good show and more fun so people play more :] Also was totally not ready for a player good enough to slide into my DMs as a wolf - NSM has a very passive/newbish standard of play so I pretty much assume people actively hunting behind the scenes are human bar Toby so ehehehehe noice

7. Nana1Popo2- Revoker
You didn't really play bad, you just didn't play good yaknow? Shy is the only person you really read the entire game, and that's just because you know him well. It's ok to not know much, but the only way to know more is to make stuff happen, and people talk about it, and boom bootyful information and lots of reads! It might be scary acting without much information, but feigning confidence is a really important skill in TWG: I'm probably the most aggressive player on NSM and trust me I'm never anywhere close to 100% certain someone is a wolf but I just pretend I am and lynch anyways. Beating the bush, waiting for more to happen, and letting other people lead the way are all quick ways to non eventful wolf victory. Even if you're wrong and go balls to the walls killing a human, you still generate a lot of discussion where you can analyze how people responded to you, who they voted for, and make finding wolves much easier for both you and the other humans!

8. leetic- Guardian
ripperini pepperini wish I got to play with you more

9. blinky- Vanilla Human
It looked like you were gonna be an important active player, sad you died because game probably would of been more fun with you around.

10. funnygurl555- Vanilla Human
I think you played really well your suspicions were just really weird to me. You're suspicions bounced around a lot for what seemed like small reasons in the greater context of what was going on. Also don't let people pocket you, kai really had you in the palm of his hand all game! It's OK to trust people, but only temporarily. Be ready to turn on anyone at the drop of the slightest weird thing - it's a good way to avoid confirmation bias!

I appreciate it.  Yeah, it was very much a drag to die as early as I did as I was very enthusiastic to contribute.  I'll definitely be sticking around if there are games coming up in the future!

For a moment there I think I convinced myself I was Revoker 😛
It was pretty scary jumping into OOT activity at first, but not only did I want the classic TWG experience, I wanted to build links with townies and fake-sort people (being careful to open one convo at a time over the game, of course – if I was too active in this context it would have been weird for me to not die, I think)
But yeah, I feel that was a big factor in my previous steak of wolf losses – I was timid and lacking in proactivity, wracked by the illusion of transparency. This inevitably resulted in me having nobody in my corner who was not actually on my team, and when somebody loud eventually decided to push my lynch, it was all too easy for the rest of the town to fall in line. I'm glad I muscled through and avoided that, but now I fear that I'll have a much more difficult time in DMs next game 😂
