In my honest opinion, it should not be allowed. Some people have certain tendencies that people can pick up on when they are lying. Especially if it is between people that know each other. It also complicates things more because there has to be limits. When it starts to come into real life, the game suddenly gets more real and there is more pressure. The only time that I can think of where IRL communication could be allowed is between confirmed people through host (IE, the wolves).

As a person that generally has an ability to tell when people he communicates with are lying, it seems almost game-breaking. For those that are inexperienced, it makes it difficult to play with people that are good at it because they can't do much of anything. For a person to person basis it would potentially unbalance the game based on their experience and such. It just wouldn't be nurturing to TWG here for it to happen.

Iunno, these are my views on it.

changed to Jub3r7 is super coll. I don't have a problem talking to Kman about it, but if he doesn't want to, then he shouldn't have to.

I'm with MG on this one. It's what I've been saying all along.

Mashi

Hmm, I think I'll change my views and side with MG and vote No Real Life Conversations.
omg guys why did you ninja me

Greg

No Real Life Conversations, there's a lot more pressure on people in real life.

Raymondbl

No Real Life Conversations. Same thoughts as MG.
The purpose of life is to survive.  Deal with it.

What's wrong with irl conversations? If both players agree, then it should be ok, as jub said. Half the reason I had Kman join was because I thought it would be interesting to play TWG with an irl friend... :/

I think /default/ should be that there is no talking about TWG irl, but if both players agree to it before the game then it should be allowed.

If someone felt that they wouldn't be able to talk about it in real time, then they wouldn't; if we go my way, the players who want to do it can still do it.
It's dangerous to go alone, take me with you! [JUB has joined the party.]

Actually on second thought, maybe we can allow IRL just as long as there is no direct questions about either party. So discussion about the other players in the game would be okay, but discussion about each other in the game wouldn't be.

If we have an idea for a new role, can we put it in a draft of a game we're working on and submit it to someone on TWC?

And how do you regulate that?

Well first of all, it's an honor system anyways about talking IRL already without us knowing.  If a party had a problem with someone forcing them to answer IRL questions, then they would message the host about it and they would dispense proper punishment from there privately.

If it really came to it anyways, you kick the offending player from the current game and ban them from a number of future games if at all. It gets the message across that the behavior is in tolerable and won't be accepted so others won't follow their example if they wish to continue playing.

No need to sound like there's no discussion on the matter. Just because you point out one potential flaw in it doesn't mean you stop talking about it. >.>

I originally supported it too, but it's an issue that can go either way. Like I said above, it's an honor system.

There's both very good reasons for it and against it. At best, have it as a case by case basis.

spitllama

It wasn't meant to sound like that. I just expressed a reason and gave my opinion. Sorry if it sounded any different than that. Everybody else was voting anyhow :P

Of course.

Also, I would like more opinions about Whirr's suggestion.  For the time being, real life conversations will still be prohibited, but if anyone would like to change this rule, let's discuss it.

Oh sorry, I was reading that out of context. It sounded like you were reinforcing that and being very straight forward about it. My bad completely for not re-reading above with the voting and what not.
