While I suppose this arrangement is "acceptable", I personally feel like it doesn't capture the transcendent spaciousness of the OST, particularly (but not limited to) m. 25-42. The piano is inherently deficient in replicating these sort of long sustained whole note type pieces, and because of that, sometimes that means making some pianistic adaptations, like adding pedal, or reinforcing chords by striking them again where there are not explicitly articulated.
