I'm transcribing Delfino Plaza from SMS (it's in my super mario piano book, and I'm entering it into Finale so I can get a midi file and afterwards put it on my iPod). It starts out in swing (swing eighths) but later has a section where eighth notes are not swung. How do I deactivate swing for a certain section?

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

you'd have to make an expression that turns the swing value to 0.

  • bring up the expression selection menu
  • "create [category name]..."
  • playback tab
  • type: swing
  • Effect: Set to value: 0

Even easier-have human playback on standard and use these(already made):

Is there any way to do that thing where it's like a triplet but has a 2 on top indicating that the two notes are to be played in the time of 3?
