Fruity loops is really hard to figure out, but easy to make music with.

At the top there is 5 buttons

The playlist button which is where you organize your step sequencer which contains the patterns
Patterns are the actual instruments. Next to the step sequencer button is the piano button is where you input notes. The broswer button opens the menu.  I dont use the mixer.
