Ya know, the OFFICIAL Arrangement Project could do this...DQ9 isn't really taking off, anyway.

What makes you think the project will be able to finish this one if it can't finish the other one? I say stick with the original plan you guys had. Make this one separate (or better, yet, devote everyone to one project at a time). Just thinking out loud.

Now I'm really enthusiastic! But let's see what Shado and other staffs say.

Couldn't we just have both projects?  :-\

Shadoninja

I don't see why we can't have both as long as everyone's being productive. I wouldn't start any more than 2 OST projects at once though. That would split the focus way too much.

Isn't This Such a Utopia?!

Because NSM gets enough stuff done to now be ambitious.

If people haven't played these games, why would they want to help? We're picking two rather obscure titles. Wouldn't it make sense to actually finish a game soundtrack that's been proven great over the years?

I'm out of this one. If it works, it works. But if you can't get people to arrange a ton of DQIX stuff that haven't played that game, the idea that you can get 250 songs done from a game that hasn't even been released in English officially is pretty outrageous. Not sure how much it would benefit the site either versus a: Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Bioshock, any well known release; arrangement project.

And forgive me for asking, but how are these projects any different than a requester saying "Oh and while you're at it, can you arrange the whole soundtrack too?" That's happened far too many times to count.

Not really ranting, not trying to put people who are arranging for Mother 3 down. Game's good. But just questioning the role of this as an arrangement project, stickied in the request forum. There seems to be a lot of things to be arranged, like real requests.

I'm not that good with music yet? My sight-reading is getting better, but knowing what notes are in the song when hearing it by ear? Nnnnope.

I'm all with Pumpy. Why not polish off some of those requests that Shado and WarioMan have been working to move between appropriate threads? It'd be cool to put some of those to rest rather than open up another can of worms.
The DQIX has already been started, and before you know it we're going to have two Arrangement Projects where everyone's gung-ho for the first 2 weeks... and then it fizzles. At least, to repeat what I said in my last post, stick with ONE project and not two. Devote peoples' attentions to what is most productive.

You're both right. I apologize for my bad judgement.

Yes, it hasn't been released in English officially, but I'm devoted to these songs. And I'll try my hardest to help with this project. Even if it only gets a few songs done, worst case scenario, that's still good for the site, right? I'll see if I can get Finale notepad 2012 on my computer. If I CAN, I would like to arrange a few songs. I'll just pick some random ones that I would like people to save for me tomorrow.

K-NiGhT

If you want to arrange them yourself, that's fine. We just don't need two projects devoted to them, eh?

Very well. If that's what the great majority of NSM arrangers think, personally I'll continue to do Mother 3 songs and wait until we finish the current project: Dragon Quest IX so we can make another project. I can wait. And you, shadowkirby?

Also, why don't we do polls to see which project most of the arrangers would like to do if one is completed? That way we could see which one is the favorite for arrangers to do so we would complete it faster. Just an opinion.
