for music, I have to get an australian film, or short film, and record or rip 1 minute of footage without sound from it and then compose my own music to fit with it.

I'm thinking of either using Saw or Happy Feet as my film (they're both australian).

if you have any better ideas (oh dear god why do they have to be australian >_<) please help.

Also if you can't find anything decent which is Australian then that's ok my teacher understands how stupid the idea was (stupid australian board of studies) and said he could give SOME leeway.

I compose in a primitivist/serialist style usually in an unnerving (think Messiaen) or dance-like manner (think stravinsky's rite of spring, not rave music ._.)

Both Mad Max and Crocodile Dundee are Australian and should have plenty of content for you.

But I agree. Australian movies are crap. Horrors/thrillers should be easy, I recommend Saw or Wolf Creek.
