Nintendude73

Hi, everyone.  I've decided to try to get back into arranging.  I'm kind of rusty, so my arrangements are currently not up for submission.  I'd appreciate any critique you can offer, as well as any comments or suggestions.

I'll be posting new arrangements here, including some that I arranged but forgot to ever submit.  If there is an arrangement of mine on the site that you think needs work (I'm sure you could find some!), please let me know and I'll try to fix it and put it here for resubmission.

A final note before I list my arrangements:  I arrange using a MIDI.  I know there are some people on this site that don't support that.  If you have a problem with it, I suggest you tell someone who cares.  I don't take credit for creating these entirely from scratch.  I just think it is nice to have the MIDI in cleaned-up sheet music form.

Now, onto my arrangements!

New Submissions

-Puzzles (Professor Layton and the Curious Village)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?n4iqo42uzwe
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?kykyoomrqzd
Spur of the moment, I decided I wanted some Layton love on this site, so I found a midi on vgmusic.com and got to work.  I think it turned out very nicely.

-Mad Monster Mansion: Outside the Church (Banjo-Kazooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?mmrumzdiz3j
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?dzzemm2undy
Not to be confused with the MMM arrangement on the site, this is the music that plays in MMM when you're outside of the church.  Pretty self-explanatory, actually.

-Mumbo's BBQ (Banjo-Kazooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?zzfgnmoixmt
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?wnml1yjdvdk
A fun little tune... I can't quite remember when it plays.  I know it's near the end of the game.  I think...

-Cloud Cuckooland (Banjo-Tooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?tjzywznjyty
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?rkeyft1zoxa
One of the oddest songs ever.  You can tell just by looking at the sheet music how crazy of a piece this is.  There is no key signature to make this sheet look cleaner.  It just can't be done.

-Mayahem Temple Interior (Banjo-Tooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?mltyyiwxefe
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?wnbkgxtyi0m
We've got the outside.  This is what the temple sounds like on the inside!  A slow and mysterious tune...

-Party at Bottles' House (Banjo-Tooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?ljwitj3jott
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?zdititklzme
WOO!  PARTY!

-Wumba's Wigwam (Banjo-Tooie)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?qz3kjjygziz
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?2ym5gimnjfj
Talk about stereotyping.  Pretty much every native American tribal song you've ever heard, generalized in this piece.

-Hideout Helm: Offline (Donkey Kong 64)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?gjt2o2zdg2i
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?y132imzgqiz
Bummmm bum bum bum bada bum.  Bum bum bum bada bum...

-Title Theme (Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time)
MUS: http://www.mediafire.com/?ijeoyinczwl
MIDI: http://www.mediafire.com/?0zuze3y1nnw
Such a catchy tune.  It may be a difficult song to play.

Another note: If I am working on a song that you are also working on, please tell me.  There's no point in both of us working on the same thing, and I don't feel like looking through every single thread to see if someone is working on each song I want to try my hand at arranging.

You've made a song that's been on my post for months. ->http://www.ninsheetm.us/smf/index.php?topic=392.0
Keep going down till you see it.

It happens Every. Day!

So I did...  :-[  Oh well, yours is much better.  I'll take it down tomorrow, sorry.  That was a waste of a few hours of my life. XD  At least it gave me some practice.

Remind me, whenever I regain the ability to update, to upload more than just one of your pieces.  They are consistently good and we need to get them up onto the site so they're not just sitting there. :)

Thanks, I managed to reach the character limit on the post and a once-a-week update will back me up. I also think you can make something better that I haven't even thought of doing yet. :)

After Concerto does his initial "Welcome Back Updates" Update, I hope to take on the next update and do more than one submission per person, just so we can clean out some of the stuff that's just been sitting forever.

I'm working on finding a song that someone else hasn't done that I like, which is proving difficult. :P  Of course, it also means that a lot of the song that I like have been done, which is still good.

...didn't I go and edit a bunch of your MMM arrangement a while back?  Did you ever get that file, or is the one submitted the one you made in the first place?  I can't check at the moment as this isn't my computer.  I think I still have a copy of it at home on paper, so I could always scan it or just redo it for you.  I think the problem was that your arrangement was just off on some parts, and I fixed those parts.

EDIT:  Actually I listened to the midi and can tell already that it's the erroneous one.  I'll upload a fixed version once I get back from vacation if I can remember.  Or you can find it if you have it somewhere.

I don't remember that, but if you have it go ahead and send it.

New arrangement added... Professor Layton and the Curious Village "Puzzles"

Should be very familiar to anyone who's played the game.

Good work on the Puzzles Theme. I've played the game a little, and seen the midi that you probably used, and what you've done with it is amazing given the circumstances of both.  :)

Hey, I arrange with a midi too! ;D

Nintendude73

Thanks!  I'll probably submit it when Concerto's back to update.  I hate accepting my own songs. D:

Because about what other people will think like "Oh, he's just accepting his own song because he arrange it. thats cheating!" or something? Dont worry, just go for it ;) Im sure your song is good enough to be accepted. I dont listened the arr, cuz I dont know the original song :/ But Im sure its ok ;)

You could always accept your own sheet/s through an organised, fair system, such as if one of your sheets gets awesome feedback from one or more peoples. That way someone has kind of accepted it, and you don't have to feel guilty!  ;)

Alright, I fixed up your Outside the Church piece again. (I lost the file so I had to copy it from the sheet I had printed out ages ago)  The only thing that I couldn't do was add trills, because Notepad doesn't let me.  (I think)  If you could just add them in where I left the text marks and replace the mess of 32nd notes with dotted quarter notes it will be complete.  (Measures 42 and 46 should have the last set replaced with a quarter note)  You just have to reformat it to NSM standards.
