Java trouble

Whenever I try to play RuneScape, it gets to the sign in page (with the picture background), but then it tries to turn into the moving background, and FireFox crashes. What's up?

If you're playing on HD then your computer may not be able to take RS. What comp. version do you have? (E.g. Vista, Mac OS etc.)
Or just play on normal- there's not much difference.

I play on normal. And my (parents') computer is a piece of CRAP, with the harddrive almost literally split in two; however, I don't think that's the problem. I think a setting was changed somewhere, but I don't want to go messing with Java's programming.
