Is it an OK first game in the franchise? Or should I wait for trilogy?

That's kind of a tough one? You'll love this game no matter what, and there aren't exactly SPOILERS for previous games, but you might miss a couple references here and there. If you want to play it now since it's cheaper, that's totally fine; all that really matters as far as series chronology is that you play 1-3 in order.

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

The one problem is the rating. (Parents) So, is it that much worse than the others?

blueflower999

The M rating is pretty light honestly and if they gave it a T I don't think any parents could complain. Essentially there are one or two cutscenes with a more gore and disturbing imagery than usual and that's about it. It's not anything that should stop you from checking out the game.  :)

"Gore" makes it sound like there's anything other than a little blood. In truth there's just a bit of blood shown and no language whatsoever.

I really can't figure out the ESRB on this one; it's basically the same as the T games.

aren't you old enough though?

Maelstrom

I am, but parents. And multiple younger siblings. But things on an individual screen are better than console games, so well see....

Starting the school year and already getting addicted to Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Such a good game, way better than Dual Destinies so far.

I'm also playing a game called Azure Striker Gunvolt (dat Engrish). It's made by one of the original designers of Mega Man, and the game's pretty similar to that series (MegaMan Zero in particular). Pretty good if you're looking for an action game, and while it's relatively easy to beat normally, it still offers a challenge if you're looking for good Ranking and scores.

Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. This game is really good.

HEC K YEAH

I actually am in the process of replaying the second case from that game.

But yeah dude you're in a for a heck of a time. Let us all know how you like it! You'll know pretty fast whether you like the game or not; it's basically a lot of reading. Still, you have a lot of great, quirky situations at hand with any game in that series, so as long as you let yourself get sucked into the story, you'll really enjoy it.

That's because the chapters involve Phoenix Wright as well, so it's only natural they're longer!
