Fringe was great as a sort of crazy sci fi detective cop drama until it turned into a crazy sci fi evil future people drama which is really cool but just not as cool.

I'm not sure if it counts here but Midsomer Murders is the best imo. Several years ago I did watch Monk and that was great stuff.
