Buying a New Keyboard

Hello! My name is KnucklesE. I have been using a great Yamaha keyboard with weighted keys, a pedal, and a wonderful piano sound. I have been borrowing it over a year, but I was recently informed that my friend might need it back. So now I am in a predicament because I don't have a replacement keyboard and I love playing the piano.

So I need your help with choosing a new keyboard. It must fit this criteria though:
-weighted keys
-MIDI support (I want to record future performances)
-a realistic piano sound (without having to download one)
-Full 88 keys
-The ability to transpose, if not that is okay.

So please recommend a keyboard that you personally know works well or know fits the criteria. (With a link to the product please).

For the price range maybe give me a cheap one, medium cost, and then expensive. I will probably go for a medium cost, but I do want to know what is out there.

Browse pawn shops. You probably won't be able to find one with all those features under at least $600-800.

These are all fairly well reviewed and [I believe] fit the criteria:

Casio PX-130 - $486
Korg SP170 - $449
Yamaha YPG-535 - $499

You're going to have a hard time finding quality for less than that.

Wow! Thanks for all of the suggestions. I am very grateful for the responses. I will be sure to look into each of these keyboards. Luckily a music store just opened up close to my town so I will visit their keyboard section.

Musiciansfriend.com is definitely the place to shop. Free 2 day shipping and they have everything. I use a Casio Privia PX-200, but I don't recommend Casio at all. It sounds fine, but the keys are extremely heavy. Forget doing with fast tempo or sixteenth/thirty-second notes on it. I've heard nothing but good reviews on the Yamaha mentioned above though. Also tested one in church and loved the light feel.

^That's an amazing site for everything. That's where I got my Keyboard (which is a YPG-535 and it does a SPLENDID job with your criteria. I use it to import midi from songs I play onto Finale, and transpose if I need to play my Bb Real book and all the fun stuff)

Dunno about other keyboards, but when checking the ones I listed on Amazon and then that site Amazon was always either cheaper or the same price.

I have Amazon Prime so I get the free 2 day shipping from them anyway, and if you're a college student then you should be able to just sign up for the free year.

Great! I will definitely be sure to check out the website. Luckily I still have the piano I borrowed for now so shipping isn't a necessity (at the moment), but I will keep on searching for the right one. I'm probably going to go to a new music store that just opened up and test out keyboards. I can't thank you guys enough for the helpful posts. I really feel welcome on these forums, believe me I have been on a lot of forums and rarely do I see a community as nice as this one.
