Miscellaneous Arrangements / Xenoblade Chronicles - Hometow...
Last post by RaraCool - August 18, 2024, 02:15:56 PM
Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been active on here. I wanted to share an arrangement I made of Hometown for my graduation ceremony a few years ago. It was played during the mass, so we had to stop playing around the halfway mark, but I still love how it sounded during practice. I'm not accustomed to writing guitar tabs, so I mainly just annotated the chords and let the guitarists do as they liked with the strumming pattern. Also, since I'm primarily a violin player, I'm less used to transcribing chords as I am singular notes, but thankfully I got an A in music theory during those exams so I was able to get a rough idea haha. Thanks to Maelstrom's arrangement on here that helped me figure it all out! Unfortunately I no longer have the source Musescore file, but if I'm ever up to it, it's only a page so I could definitely recreate it.

Piano Arrangements / Gustnado's Arrangements
Last post by Gustnado - August 18, 2024, 10:54:32 AM
Hi everyone!

I'm actually new here, so I hope I'm on the right place lol

So I wanted to share with you an arrangement from the fifth stage's theme from Touhou DDC : "The Shining Needle Castle Sinking In The Air".

So here it is. I tried to make it not to hard to play and with fairly accurate dynamics.

MIDI File :

However, when I first done the arrangement (mostly by memory, even before I transcripted it on Musescore), I came up with a slightly different melody from bar 72 up to bar 92. In my opinion, the original melody sounds a bit weird on the piano. Tell me what you think!

I moved again! But that story's not why you're here, so let's move on to the sheets, shall we?

[GB] The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls

521st

Hop Hop Springs [ZIP]

522nd

Eclair Palace [ZIP]

I recently played through The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls, known in Japan as Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, and I gotta say, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's this weird mixture of platforming and action RPG elements, with a really entertaining story that kept me thoroughly engaged, and I would definitely recommend it. The composer behind the game is Kazumi Totaka, the same guy behind Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Yoshi's Story, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, and many more. In some of his works, the aggressive repetition of each primary motif rubs me the wrong way, but overall I think it was done fairly well in this game. I might even consider making some arrangements for my channel, but for now, I'll stick with a couple of sheets of the tracks that stuck with me. Enjoy!

P.S. I did some reorganizing in the OP: the broken glow effect surrounding the dedicated/conquered games has been removed, and the two Game Boy-exclusive sheets from The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle have been given their own section, bringing the total number of games with sheets to 175. Let's hear it for more games~

This track plays during Niko's first interaction with Prophetbot, and it is almost the same as Phosphor, but starting immediately with percussion and with the front instruments removed: In the soundtrack, the two are separated, and I decided to write them in different arrangements aswell because the exclusion of the instruments makes a simpler way of performing possible (in Phosphor, I had to remove some notes to make it possible to play others, especially in the percussion parts).

Feedback / DK Country: "Map" or "Simian S...
Last post by JunkyardKong - August 17, 2024, 02:52:13 AM
I noticed that on the Donkey Kong Country sheets, the Map's theme is titled "Map", rather than its official title of, "Simian Segue".  Thought I'd make a post about it after seeing a different one on the feedback forum regarding official song titles.  That is all  :)

Edit: Right after I wrote this, I realized that you guys have a separate spot for Site Corrections.  Whoops! Sorry, I'm new here  :-\
