Thanks guys! Olimar, good to see you too! I see your name all the time whenever an update gets posted to facebook. Those always make me smile.

I'm doing good! I moved to Baltimore (if anyone's ever in the area, hmu) and I work mostly on graph theory and network science-y stuff. Enjoying my Switch, can't wait for Splatoon this Friday. I should post my friend code later, maybe I can go a couple rounds in ARMS with you guys.

I'm not much of a musician anymore - I haven't really touched my sax in a few years now - but I joined a hip-hop dance team a few years ago, and I've gotten pretty into that. And this winter I'll actually be teaching a course on video game music! It's built from a musicology standpoint, and was 100% inspired by my time at NSM (and you can be sure I'll be showing this site in lectures!).

Hey, I thought I'd say hello. I used to hang around the site a lot years ago. It's been a long time, but I still recognize some of the names in the forums from back then. These days I'm working on a PhD in Applied Mathematics. Man, has it been a long time.

Back when I was still active, I remember updates being few and far between, but now I see you've all got new sheets all the time. Kudos to you all for the hard work and productivity- new members and old, you're all doing amazing stuff.

I ended up back here because I was telling a friend about this site. I probably won't post very much at all (gotta write my thesis!) but it's nice to see everything that's been going on!

You would think we'd learn useful phrases in Italian class.

Feedback / Re: Full Arrangements?
April 11, 2010, 10:47:16 AM
VGV is open to pretty much any ensemble you feel like arranging for. There are arrangements for full orchestras, string quartets, brass ensembles, whatever.

Quote from: universe-X on April 11, 2010, 09:38:53 AMWell, I was thinking about submitting to VGVirtuoso (but first of all, that would just be another account I'm hiding from my parents), but I saw Squaresound first and thought "This is some BS..." Just because of the multiple sheets for 1 song. So, I didn't really bother with VGV because of that risk and i didn't wanna be confused with how the site's run.

There are some differences, yes. Submissions are completely different (VGV has a user uploader). But it's not difficult at all to have accounts on both sites. I've been doing it for ages.

Feedback / Re: The future of NSM
April 11, 2010, 10:43:22 AM
Everyone should listen to Hugo.

I've been away from NSM for months, working on VGV. When I came back about a week ago, I found everything at standstill. Updates are few and far between around here, despite all the great work being done by the arrangers. Great ideas seem to be cropping up, like the video project, but they don't seem to be going very far.

Now, I love NSM. I got my start here a couple of years back, and I've been using the site since long before G-Han left. I care about this site, and I would hate to see it die off. The rest of the staff at VGV feels the same way.

JaMaHa, you know what we're thinking about.

Help! / Re: fingering
April 10, 2010, 03:49:13 PM
I don't think adding fingerings is really necessary. It will certainly help, but it will also create more work for the updating crew, and there's already far too much work in existence for the two of them to get done.

He's probably regretting eating that cake right about now.
