We seem to have trapped one of the mods within the forum's code... and we're not sure how to get him out. Oh well, he'll figure it out!

Help! / (Finale) ...What now?
August 26, 2024, 06:05:08 PM
Finale has been discontinued, you are no longer able to purchase it from MakeMusic, and will only be supported for a year from today, after which it will be impossible to install on devices, even with a license.

As someone who does not make compositions, I'm curious whether proposed alternatives (recreations of Finale in Musescore), are comprehensive enough at this point to fully replace Finale for the purposes of this site?

Gaming / Re: What are you playing right now?
August 18, 2024, 02:25:39 PM
Right now the two games on the heaviest rotation are Tetris for NES (Bizhawk, Tetris Gym romhack) and Skate 3 (RPCS3). I recently got an Xbox One for free and have been playing through Hades, but its hard to find time to sit down at the couch and play (as opposed to anywhere with my laptop... as long as I'm plugged in :P )
Still playing through RDR2 slowly and surely, same with Tears of the Kingdom. I'm having the same problem I had with Skyrim where I interact farrr too much with the environment as opposed to the main quest.
For me, Skate 3 is where it's at currently because it's so easy to be aimless with it. It launches quick and it autosaves meaning I can open and close it during my study breaks, and Tetris gets me focused to the point where I forget where I am

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been active on here. I wanted to share an arrangement I made of Hometown for my graduation ceremony a few years ago. It was played during the mass, so we had to stop playing around the halfway mark, but I still love how it sounded during practice. I'm not accustomed to writing guitar tabs, so I mainly just annotated the chords and let the guitarists do as they liked with the strumming pattern. Also, since I'm primarily a violin player, I'm less used to transcribing chords as I am singular notes, but thankfully I got an A in music theory during those exams so I was able to get a rough idea haha. Thanks to Maelstrom's arrangement on here that helped me figure it all out! Unfortunately I no longer have the source Musescore file, but if I'm ever up to it, it's only a page so I could definitely recreate it.

I would say Super Smash Bros. Brawl for sure. Anytime I look up SSBB CD it just comes up with the in-game item.

LeviR.star not really, I'm just not familiar with the originals, and I wasn't sure if they were remixes or not (I know SSB says whether they are, but I haven't touched the game in over a year). I understand your skepticism about Smash remixes and I hold the same sentiments, but in this case I simply wasn't sure. If needs be I'll change the title of this request.

"Dark Link"
I took up guitar just because of this version of the song and I would love to see a piano version of this song on this site. It could also be adapted for "Dark Link Theme"

"Wrath of the Reset Bomb"
I wasn't even going to request it until it got stuck in my head while making this request :)

I'm trying to learn this version of Preparing to Advance on violin. I don't mind if it's arranged for piano, I just basically need the gist of it, and if it's beneficial for others then it works for me too.
