Your modifications have now been submitted. Thank you very much for you help, Bespinben.

After giving it some thought, I decided to leave the ending chord you added. First I thought that I'm still not really at that level in terms of arranging music, but it fits the song so well, that it might as well stay there (thanks for teaching me this trick!). So I'd like to use the files you added to your post, if you don't mind.

There's just one thing I'd like to know: I'm not sure how to read the Coda in this context. I know how to use a Coda when there's another Coda leading to it (D.C. al Coda) or with a Segno (D.S. al Coda).

(1) Are you talking about these two notes highlighted in red? I want to make sure before editing, as editing with Finale Notepad is quite the ordeal.

(2) As what comes to the repeat sign: The sheet originally had a simple repeat bracket spanning from beginning to end, but another fellow here (Tobbeh99) pointed out that it's redundant to have one when the song just repeats from beginning to end. I think I have to agree with him on this one, but I'll add one if you insist on it.

Revised versions uploaded. Decided not to remove the collisions as shifting the overlapping notes to different octaves just didn't sound good to my ear.

Hello Bespinben,

Thank you for your high level feedback! After giving it thought, I decided that I will move the lower upper voices to the bass clef to double the bass. I'm still considering if to move the overlapping voices different octaves or not to. I might lose sleep if the arrangement strays too far from the original composition, haha...

Anyways, I am aiming to do the changes this weekend. Thanks again for the feedback.

With best regards,
David

Endline added to .pdf and .mus.

I first submitted this back in August. The original submission had some flaws which have now been fixed. This time hopefully fixing new flaws won't take 3 months ;D

Sorry for the silence. Just dropping a line that I'll get around this as soon as I get the time. Hopefully very soon...!

Quote from: Tobbeh99 on September 04, 2016, 06:02:40 AM-The dynamic should be in the beginning, between the staves, like this song: http://www.ninsheetmusic.org/download/pdf/2622. Having at least 1 dynamic in your arrangement is mandatory.

Whoops haha, I thought you meant a certain note was missing a dynamics symbol... I forgot a dynamic marking was required. I'll throw something in.

I'm actually Finnish and unfortunately my Swedish is a lot worse than it should be, tyvärr...!

Ah, Tobbeh min kompis, thanks again for your excellent feedback. I wish my ears were as accurate as yours are! I'll amend the suggested fixes and get back to you via this thread. Could you hint me where the missing dynamic is supposed to be?

Tack och hejdå!

The .mus file contains two problems with formatting: composer lines are aligned incorrectly and the only tie archs to the wrong direction. Unfortunately I'm unable to correct these as I only have Finale Notepad. If someone with a more powerful version of Finale would like to help with these, I applaud them to do so. This was originally arranged with MuseScore and the .pdf file has been rendered from there, so it's free from these problems.

Music / Re: The secret to arranging...

Thanks for the link, Tobbeh99! I'll keep an eye on that. My initial post is granted a bit cryptic, but what I was asking is if people can recommend me exercises to develop my musical sense. I'm assuming chord, scale and interval exercises are a key ingredient.

Quote100 scales, 100 chords, and 100 interval exercises... every day!

Please tell me more??

I also have transcribe and I can recommend it wholeheartedly (true though that I've learned to rely on it more than my own ears).

Hello Tobbeh99 and thank you for your comments,

Big whoops with formatting! Somehow I was under the impression that the final touch in formatting would happen by the administrator of this site... Thanks for linking me the formatting guidelines. Should I cancel this submission and resubmit when it's proper or just submit the proper files in this thread?

What comes to musical mistakes: I converted the original .spc file into a midi-file with a very primitive converter tool. The midi-file was supposed to be for reference only, but I ended up relying on it more than I'd like to admit, as my ears aren't quite up to the task yet... After reading your pointers and evaluating the midi-file once more, I feel a bit dump for omitting the entire melody line :o. I will have to correct this and other mistakes too.

Anyways, sorry for this incredibly rushed submission. I'm very grateful for this community for all the sheet music I've obtained from here and I'd like to give back by submitting a song for a game with awesome music (surprised there are no previous submissions for Castlevania 4).
