Quote from: DonValentino on April 13, 2013, 02:58:43 PMWell yeah, agreed! A kid would not understand all the seriousness behind the villainous teams, for example, but you can't say they're not targeted to children. Again, Game Corner. If the games weren't really targeted to children, they wouldn't have removed it.
It's sad, I know, but it is what it is.

Our localization team targets it at children. They remove lots of jokes and stuff that would go over younger children's heads, but that the older group would understand (trap June on the ferris wheel, flash man, game corner...) that is in the Japanese version. Pokemon caters to all ages, so they have to make it relatively safe for children too, but it isn't solely targeted at them (at least in Japan). Mario comes to mind - I would not say that Mario is targeted at children, even if it has plenty of bright and happy characters, and kid-friendly content.

No matter, I'm excited to see what they come up with next. My favorites were PokeStudios and the Contests, probably. Musicals didn't appeal to me because they took so long and there isn't really any payoff.

I've gotten further into the plot, and I'm quite pleased with how the game is coming out! I just met the two eeveelutions. In particular, I think the characters are great. The only thing I'm missing are the difficult dungeons. I haven't died once yet, compared to Blue where I had to do Mt. Steel like four times.

But the music is GORGEOUS *.* It makes me uber-excited for XY music.

Also, the ice dungeons are going to be hell. Snivy, Axew, and Archen. Even Virizion is weak to ice ;-;

How is everyone else's playthrough going?

So, who has their copy yet?

I'm not that far into the game, only about four hours in, but I'm not too sure what to think of it. The graphics are gorgeous and the characters are fun, but the copious amounts of text (combined with a slower text rate), lack of hunger, the really easy dungeons (like, the first five or six are max 5 levels) have made it an alright experience insofar. Very very mild gameplay spoiler up ahead:

Spoiler
Also, with these moves that increase in power (that applies to all moves, i.e. all quick attacks to all members even if they never used it before), and teammates automatically gaining EXP even if they aren't in the dungeon with you,  I have a feeling that it'll be an easy game.

Also, is there ANY way to take multiple requests at the same time, or can you only do one job request per dungeon? I couldn't find a way to take three or four or more at once, I really hope this isn't the case :<

Quote from: Kman96 on March 18, 2013, 09:08:39 PMNo offense to anyone, but I could really give a shit about these natures and IV's and shit.

Good lord, whatever happened to "LVL 100 CHARIZARD OMG BEAAAST!!!" that's how I play Pokemon. Level with experience and all that stuff. Is it really that much of a difference just to have one stupid number define how "good" or "strong" your Pokemon is??

I don't think so. Let's prevent pokeprejudice by standing against these dividing forces.

You can basically win in-game with any pokemon - they make it so that EVs and IVs don't matter at all. You can use your level 100 Charizard in casual play in general.

Competitive play is a different matter. They do make a big difference, and when you're going up against strategies and other EV and IV pokemon (that involve the strategies), you're gonna die if you don't level out the playing field ;p

I like the Magnagate Dungeons. The only issue is with the demo, they get a bit repetitive and easy. Can't wait for the game~

My willpower was not enough to resist the demo. However, you only get two dungeons from it (with exception of the Magnagate dungeons) and basically zero plot, so it wasn't that bad. Yay!

Quote from: Nebbles on March 02, 2013, 03:04:53 PMSpecial dungeons in the demo only? Rarrghhhh I wanna wait until the actual game itself though

Same here, haha. Maybe I'll download the trial and not play it until the game comes out.

Well, the US demo is coming out in a couple of days (first 45 minutes of gameplay, I think?). Who's going to play it, and who is going to not bother spoiling the beginning until the game proper comes out?

I don't know what I'm going to do. Initially I was going to wait, but Serebii says that there are special dungeons included so I might get it.

Fantastic :D I didn't think anyone would actually end up taking it, there were so man auxiliary sounds that you can't really translate into a piano, but you did an excellent job! (I'd reply in the original thread, but I think you're more likely to see this here)

Thankee very much~

Got the game and finished it. I wasn't that impressed with it in some aspects, unfortunately. I don't know if I just am getting used to the Layton-esque plots, but I knew who the Masked Gentleman was almost immediately, which left little mystery to what was happening. It also missed some sort of whoomph? I guess the game didn't really hold any danger or mystery.
And I agree, it seemed much shorter than the other games, and there were less puzzles that I got stumped on. That might be because of the episodes in the past, though - they took up time without progressing the current plot forwards.

However, the music was fantastic. I was also incredibly pleased with the 3D effects - while I didn't like them based on the trailers, they turned out fantastic and gorgeous. Exploring the areas was a joy, too! And of course, we can't forget the past events and the character design.

But oh my, that little clip after the credits had me bouncing around in my seat :D I can't wait for the next game!

PMDEOS, but that goes unspoken.

Oddly enough, Halo CE is one of the only other games that have come close to making me tear up. I don't even know why.

Portal (and sequel) made me tear up in laughter at one point.

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney coming in three days!! YAYAYAY! (I'm not fan of Prof Layton much, but this game looks so FUN!)

I want it so badly. Can't wait until it comes out here!

I limited myself to one new song for now (I've listened to some of the 'remixes', like the "Welcome to the World of Pokemon!", which sounds wonderful. Miss a bit of the ambient background noises, though.). Ended up choosing Wailing Valley and oh my, is it ever good! x.x If the rest of the songs are like this, well, let us just say that I can't wait to hear them!

Does this get anyone excited about the RSE remake/Gen 6 music we'll be getting? Just imagine that sound!

Quote from: Bubbles7689 on November 23, 2012, 09:18:26 PMIts officially released :3 Excited to hear about the face recognition

Is that in reference to your starter Pokemon? Because you can pick that - no facial recognition involved.
