I just beat Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. That ending sucked, but I think the first's was worse.

I like how The Dark Knight is #8 on IMDb's list of the top 250 films. As good as it was, I don't think it's the 8th best movie.

Now that I've explained why I don't like it, why doesn't someone explain why they LIKE Spirited Away, so at least I can understand your viewpoints?

AHAHAHA. The internet has trained me to think someone's wrong every time they say "your" because 99% of the time they are.

I'm don't see how someone could call me narrow-minded. I gave it a shot. When someone recommends a movie to me, I almost always watch it. I really just don't see the appeal to an older audience. A little girl (who has no nose apparently, but that's besides the point) goes to a spirit town and her parents are turned into pigs. She has to work for a woman. There are several (more than most movies) antagonists, but every single time she overcomes the conflict, the antagonist turns good (reminded me of all the spy-kids villains). Then she gets her parents back and goes home. I guess one of my main problems with the plot was that every single bad guy turns out to be misunderstood or turns good, and there are a lot of them, with no main antagonist really. So it feels like a drawn-out sequence of episodes put together into a film. And I was bored the whole time.

I gave it a shot, I didn't like it, no one's ever been able to explain why they think it's good (and I have heard it's one of Miyazaki's worst, but the trailers for some of the other ones look very similar to this movie (ex: In the trailer of Howl's Moving Castle, you see a flying boy (who I guess turns into a flying creature) with a girl and an old woman. Very Spirited Away-esque, no?)). So don't hate me because I don't agree with you. I've given it thought and I'm not just dismissing it closed-mindedly.

You're directly responding the The-real-link, who hasn't been on here in probably at least 6 months, if not longer. Why I would agree with you on all these points in a silly sarcastic conversation, to take this so seriously is almost annoying.

a) I'm never super serious.
b) Your entire post is a intelligent, cohesive thought. Bro.
c) It's "you're" not "your".

All of Tarantino's movies are like that. Huge sections of calm, then incredibly violent action. My favorite of his is Kill Bill, Vol. 1 (which is also amongst my favorite movies).

And I agree with people about The Shining being awesome. Kubrick's best movies are the best movies ever, but some of his stuff I don't like at all (like A Clockwork Orange, which most people think is weird).

Also awesome: Blade Runner (The Final Cut) and The Evil Dead trilogy.

Pictures!

WHY WOULD YOU WATCH THAT!? Don't do that! Are you trying to convince yourself to commit suicide?

Also, I don't get why people like Miyazaki movies. I watched Spirited Away and I can sort of see how little kids would find it fun but not someone in their teens or older.

I don't know why you'd pick the most sexual medium of all time (besides straight up porn) if you don't like nudity. It's like saying you don't want violence (when every other anime is about giant fighting mechs). It seems like you're sticking with children's shows, so you'll only have scantily-clad, huge-breasted five-year-olds. Pretty much anything up to the point of actual nudity. Also, SuperFireKirby's hilarious definition was spot-on of a stereotypical hipster, but you only need to fulfill one requirement to be one: to feel that it's important to be into things that are not popular while not liking things simply because too many people like it.

But yeah, I stick by my Ghost in the Shell (the movie) comment. It just has boobs for a few seconds, so it's really not an issue.

I liked Bioshock 2. Better gameplay, better ending, and it criticizes the opposite philosophical viewpoint of the first game's.
The Mass Effect series is a must. In my opinion, Mass Effect 2 is the best game ever made.
Fallout 3/NV if you like big RPGs (there's also the elder scrolls games like Skyrim if you're into the peasantry/fantasy stuff).
Left 4 Dead 2 if you like zombies (as if anyone doesn't).
Mirror's Edge is really fun, but the fighting near the end can be frustrating.
If you like horror (specifically Sci-Fi Horror), the Dead Space series is the absolute best in terms of gameplay (and the atmosphere is great too).
Alan Wake is another horror game with great gameplay (and great storytelling too).
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is another good game if you like Sci-Fi.
And get Portal 2 after you finish Portal (which takes about 2 hours).
