Quote from: Nebbles on November 03, 2015, 03:58:28 PMI hope not, Undertale's a game that discovering it all for yourself is so much fun.

Like Ace Attorney!

...Except I spoiled a lot of that to myself before I finished it. I really wished I hadn't.

You think I would've learned my lesson by now. NOPE.

I mean, videogamedunkey's video spoiled quite a bit already... Though from what I've heard, I don't think it's too much.

Quote from: Nebbles on November 03, 2015, 03:24:15 PM...damn, that's like, the worst thing to get spoiled on, too.

Well, considering it doesn't affect neutral route, I feel like it's not too bad. Besides, I'd already been spoiled the identity of that boss anyways in YouTube comments. The fight itself is what blew my mind.

I've also spoiled myself about the main character as well... I feel like I should stop spending time around the Wikis before I finish games. xP

I picked this game up today after hearing a lot about it, but videogamedunkey's video on it convinced me to play it myself.

I happened to stumble across a video of the final boss on the Genocide route...

Not sure why I didn't submit this earlier, but...

Really, this looks pretty messy, since there are four voices being juggled throughout the whole theme. I'm not sure what I can do to fix it, but if anyone has any suggestions with the layers to make it look neater, then I'm all for it.

I'm hoping that the layout can get a little cleaner before I start adding articulations everywhere.

Also, should I be using 8va in the right hand?

Quote from: InsigTurtle on November 01, 2015, 04:01:02 PMMy bad, I thought you were talking about something else.
Thing is, about the opening, notating it in dotted eighths is rather awkward, since dotted quarters aren't usually divided into dotted eighths. 2:3 Duplets may be better, but then you'd have to deal with nesting and all that when that other voice pops in to say hello for a couple of seconds (with a triple feel).
Just some food for thought.

I tried making a table to show what I mean but the BBCode formatting didn't work so I deleted it.

Yeah, this is getting messy real quickly. It doesn't help that the bass line during the main part in 6/8 still plays a rhythm similar to that of the beginning section...

Quote from: InsigTurtle on November 01, 2015, 02:48:32 PMYou need to notate them in dotted quarters, not dotted eighths. Then you can keep the 6/8 throughout.

Then it doesn't match right with 6/8. The strong beats are 1 and 4 in 6/8. In that case, the melody would go like this:

1-2-3-4-5-6-1-2-3-4-5-6

When what I'm hearing is a 6/8 half as fast, with the melody playing like so:

1-2-3-4-5-6-and

Quote from: TheMarioPianist on November 01, 2015, 02:38:44 PMWell, the percussion is playing a 4/4 type pattern and the huge tempo change from those sections to the 6/8 ones makes me think they are different time sigs as well. I don't hear any indication of 6/8 in those occasional sections.

At 1:18, the accordion is playing a triplet-based rhythm on top of that lower part. I don't hear any tempo change at all, actually. If you notate them as dotted eighths in 6/8, then there is no tempo change.

Quote from: TheMarioPianist on November 01, 2015, 02:23:28 PMI'd probably go 6/8 because it has that triplet type feel that is associated with 6/8. Watch out though, because that 4 measure intro is in 4/4. And 4/4 shows up for a couple other 2 measure and 4 measure sets as well, so watch for those.

I don't think it's 4/4, is it? I think the notes are dotted eighths in a 6/8 rhythm.

I'd say 9/8. It's more common and thus, as Jompa said, easier to read.

I have a question of my own:

What time sig should I notate this in? I'm thinking I should do 6/8, but a fast 3/4 might also work. Thoughts?

These are generally consistent with titles that everyone else uses, although for some reason the Cross-Examination themes are always different for every game in BrawlBRSTMs3's playlists. It sticks consistent to "Cross-Examination" everywhere else AFAIK. Also, as I said, Godot's theme is famously known as "Godot ~ The Fragrance of Dark Coffee," so the reason why BrawlBRSTMs3 has it different confuses me.

A Wikipedia article is also here, and for the most part it seems to be official and consistent with the rules up to now.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discography_of_the_Ace_Attorney_series

The hyphen in Cross-Examination isn't present, though.

Objection!, Cross-Examination ~ Moderato/Allegro/Presto, and Confess/Telling/Announce the Truth themes always have the year at the end. A lot of themes also follow the format [setting/character name/"Reminiscence"/whatever] ~ [descriptive name].

AJ: AA:

I don't know what exactly is going with this one sheet here. I think it's supposed to be an arrangement of Cross-Examination ~ 2007 Allegro, but the entire thing seems to be transposed to the wrong key.

Anyone? I know this is quite a lot, but as a hardcore AA fan, this is bothering me a bit. :P

And you have way too much mario compared to the other 3

Do I? I always feel like I'm a little short on Zelda, but too much Mario never occurred to me. I'll have to check later.
