VisualBoy only can only open .SGM files. It can't open .sav or .sps. Can someone convert it or tell me which emulator I should use?
#17
which emulator is it for?
#18
Sorry can't say why since that's a secret.

I need someone to beat the entire game of Minish Cap and make a save file. I'm using the Visual Boy Advance emulator. I will not link to any roms so either find it yourself or PM me. An alternative is to find this savestate file on the internet, but I couldn't find any. Once you beat the entire game, make a save file and pm me the saved file. Hope someone has some spare time :P

Just so you know, half of 12/8 is 6/8. Not 3/4. Try closing your eyes and count 3 beats per measure. Good luck to anyone who tries cuz I sure hell can't.

Key changes to Db major on measure 126.

Adding 2 FF in the beginning is unnecessary. Missing bracket. Missing measure numbers. Beam collision on page 2 at the bottom. A couple more beam collisions on the next page. More beam collisions on page 6. 8va collision on last page and no need for an extra 8va when they're next to each other (just extend the previous one). As for accidentals, please make it more comfortable to read. Ei. measure 80. Instead of switching back and forth between flats and naturals, use sharp. Make it look like the notes are ascending and descending (chromatically). It's easier to read that way.

Lastly the chords.

Dm9, D#aug, C, D#aug, Gm, A7, F, F#dim, C#dim, A7, D9, G, Am, Bdim,
Dm9, D#aug, C, D#aug, Gm, A7, F, F#dim, C#dim, A7, D9, G7, C, B, Bb
A7, D7, G7, C, Ddim, D#dim, Em, D#aug
I'll stop here and let you figure the rest since it's repetitive with some of these chords.

And what do you mean "Most sheets on this site that are in need of a key change don't have them"? So you're saying because they don't have them it's Ok not to have them? I think the judges will disagree and reject this. By any chance are these sheets you mention old and outdated (probably extracted from a midi)?

It's not fine. Check the arrangement at apollomix done by pskim because his and mine came out pretty much the same. 3/4? You kidding me? Pianoman didn't you just talked about triplets, 12/8 and what not? There's also a key signature change that's missing. Some chordings are wrong. There are also notation collisions (like 8va signs colliding into other symbols, notes, and what not). It appears this sheet was done too hastily.

wait... I thought that mp3 was an arrangement of yours. Guess I thought wrong XD

I'm already busy with the suite thing. Sorry, maybe somebody else (I doubt it though).

I may include this into the video game suite medley. However, how exactly will I combine those songs? You have to do at least some work and brainstorming. Please provide the best times for transitioning from theme A to theme B. ei. theme A 00:00-00:48, then theme B 00:49-xx:xx. I may get an idea of what you want. Afterall, you did have something in mind did you?

OR select measures that you know will overlap well with a theme.

Sounds very good. I don't have the mus, but just make sure you know every instruments and that they're within pitch range. Secondly, make sure it looks neat and professional since the teacher/conductor will be looking at it. You don't know how times I've seen messy arrangements where 8va's, articulations, expressions collide into each other. Other than that Go for it!

Quote from: razer84 on June 15, 2008, 04:43:16 PMokay, i didn't read any of that music theory thing, but wouldn't it sound exactly the same?
No. It would not sound the same because you are playing the same notes, but the voicing is different. Think of it this way, if you play a root C Major chord (C, E, G) and then played the first inversion, (E, G, C) you would be playing the same notes, but because the voicing is different they do not sound the same.

Actually a Csus4 and a Gsus 4 (second inversion) will sound the same. All you're saying is Csus4 and Csus4 (first inversion) will sound different because of the different voicing. We're not talking about the same chords with different inversions. We're talking about what would you label it as if the note order were the same (hence the image he shown). Again Csus2 uses [C,D,G] and Gsus4 second inversion uses [C,D,G]. In this situation what would you use? Csus2 or Gsus4?

Feedback / Re: Triplets
June 22, 2008, 02:23:44 PM
There's finally someone who understands 12/8. The super mario world ending utilizes 12/8 as its time signature in the first part. You'll see a lot of triplets there. It just so happens that I corrected someone on the time signature with casino night zone from sonic 2. That one is in 12/8 as well. As for Lon Lon Ranch, the time signature for this is 3/4, not 9/8. The left hand is the only part that plays triplets while the right hand is playing according to the 3/4 time.

Tempo marking is also important as well. In 12/8, do not use a quarter mark, but rather a dotted quarter mark since each beat is composed of a dotted quarter note.

Too bad for some of you midi arrangers who depend on midis XD

Help! / Re: Swing?
June 22, 2008, 10:00:03 AM
Hmm alright I'll tell you what it is. It's suppose to be 12/8. The tempo marking has to change from a quarter to a dotted quarter note, but leave the number as it is. Swing music uses this time signature often. How am I sure of this? I compared a 4/4 and my 12/8 version and the 12/8 version synced exactly with the original. 4/4 and 12/8 can be so confusing for most people. That's up to you though whether you want to change it or not. An alternative is to write everything using triplets in 4/4, but that's highly not recommended; plus it's confusing.

Ah casino night zone. I can tell you it's not 4/4. Lol it'll be frustrating to start over.

It depends on the chord progression.

@MasterPenguin. Basically a Csus2 and a Gsus4 (second inversion) will sound very similar because they have the same exact notes. A Csus2 uses [C,D,G] whereas Gsus4 (with no chord inversions) is [G,C,D]. See how both of them have the same notes except in a different order where Csus2 is built upon the fourth and Gsus4 is built upon the fifth? This really depends on the chord progression you're using. If you're still confused, maybe a trip to music theory might help.

Glad you liked it.

@Brawler: Sorry for wasting your time :D I'm not going to submit it here because NSM doesn't accept anime music. I think I'll submit it at Apollomix. It'll be the first anime sheet music there :)

Green Hill Zone is from Sonic the Hedgehog 1. I think you're thinking of Emerald Hill Zone from 2.
