ok, well, i was looking for some games but i didnt know which one(s) to buy, can anyone help ?
oh, and my favorite game is probably ratchet and clank up your arsenal
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Probably wont be dethroned till the next Elder Scrolls.

Which I am greatly anticipating it's whereabouts. It'll be interesting to see how much better it is than Oblivion. If not in Cyrodiil or Morrowind, then I hope it's in Skyrim.
Cyrodiil was the perfect mix. It had swamps, snowy mountains, normal plains, coast, forests. Skyrim would be all snow. I wouldn't mind it though.
I hope they make a better game engine, which they are I think. The dev mentioned in a video on the collectors edition that each game they start from the ground up. So new engine. I want characters to die like they do in GTA or something. Not this awkward slow getting out of bed motion while I slash them 100 times in the chest with my sword which only takes up a bit of their health and then they get up.
Also, hope they fix the guards. I was in an attic, the victim did not scream, you didn't see it. You should not be running into their house and arresting me :|

Mine is a hard decision. I love the Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. series. So... all of those. xD
Chrono Trigger.

lol my cousin also has morrowind, and in alot of the cities he literally killed everybody
I can't choose one. Too many games, too many different genres. It's a fight between Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Link to the Past and Mega Man 2.
I have different favourites for ever genre. FPS: Team Fortress 2 and Half Life 2 || General Shooter: Lost Planet || RPG: Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger || Action Adventure: Banjo Kazooie/Tooie || Strategy: Age of Empires III
All the main games from SNES.
Panda Pwn
*thinks* <_< *Looks at name*....*Still thinks* lol My favorite is OF COURSE The Metroid Series ;D and Plenty others.
PIKMIN AND SUPER METROID!!!!
my favorites!!! ;D
Metroid, Pikmin, Pokemon, Mario... pretty much any nintendo game... and for non nintendo.... ratchet and clank, (some) star wars games, medal gear solid, and a few others... i would have said spyro and tony hawk's pro skater but those kinda died off after a while... the orignals were good though..

Not as bad as me. I was doing the Rufio quest for the dark brotherhood for the first time, I killed him in his sleep, IN SNEAK MODE, and a fucking BRUMA guard came and arrested me, IN THE FUCKING TAVERN. WHAT THE FUCK.
But I love that game none the less, I am re-making the perfect warrior and so far it is going well. This time I tried a Nord instead of an Orc. And I am mixing things up a bit by using Restoration magic as a major skill. Right now he is level 17. I started him 3 Days ago. I have already mastered Heavy Armor, Blade, and Block. I am near mastering Armorer and blunt. I have already maxed out Strength, Willpower, and Endurance. And Yes, if you check my XBL proflie, I do not have all the achievements yet, because I started a new account to get a new name for free and I did NOT want to have to pay for it. So now I have to redo alot of junk. but it is still a great game.
umm, do u really need all of that...
its just as easy(and more fun) to just use cheats and get everything
No cheats for Oblivion. Also that would make things boring fast.
But if it was for PC I would hack it, ;D
Why would you do a nord instead of an orc? They're pretty close in style.
Should try something totally different like an elf or that cat thing.
I've had to restart several files, and then grind to get everything back...
I spent 30 hours on one character before I realized I didn't like his appearance and started another one.
One character has 20, another 30, another like 80, another 120, and another 90 or something...hours I mean.
On my original perfect warrior, I had mastered every skill. I have logged at least 1,000 hours on that game.

My favorite game of all time is Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, closely followed by Super Paper Mario.
For me, games can be so different that you don't know which would be better. So I'll lay it down by genre.
Action/Adventure: Dark Cloud 2(PS2) closely followed by Twilight Princess(Wii)
Role-Playing:100% Oblivion(360,PC)
MMORPG: Guild Wars(PC)
Platforming: KIrby 64: The Crytal Shards
Sports:NCAA FootBall 06'(PS2)
And Finally, FPS: Call of Duty 4

nah, only the the old Xbox, not the 360
KoTOR 1 has a far, FAR better storyline than the second, but the features from the second are nice.
I have several favourites...I really do...I'll narrow to a few
Classic Nintendo: Kirby Superstar
Adventure where you collect a mideless amount of crap: DK64
Fighter: Soul Caliber
RPG: Super Mario RPG
Strategy: Path of Radience
All time: Mother 2
Another good game was Star Wars Battlefront.

Time for one of my semi-famous Shpills on something stupid said about a game.
You just totally flipped around the good and bad game. Kingdom Hearts 1 was a great game, because it was a perfect balance of Disney and Square (because we all know that if Square gets too much power, the main character will probably end up ripping off his skin, revealing himself as a heartless or something). So, we had a straightforward plot, close up the doors the Heartless come through and then destroy Ansem, thus saving the world. You beat it, you get that oh so loved feeling of accomplishment for saving a fictional world.
Skip forward a couple of years, pretty much the first things they tell you, "remeber what you did in the old game, doesn't matter, you didn't save the world, no, you actually more harmed it. The guy you thought you killed, not really him. Everything you did doesn't matter because the world is gonna get destroyed either way. Then you start to play and the first thing you notice is that this is more like Final Fantasy 14: KH2 instead of Kingdom Hearts 2. Sure, there were Disney elements, but they weren't strong enough to hold back Square from totally doing what Squre does, take a simple plot and makes it totally out to Jupiter. So, the game still ended up beingn pretty bad, but you think, "Oh, i remember KH1 being really good, i'll play that to get my mind off that crap" so you play it and you beat Ansem and think, "YAAAaa...nvm. Thats right (thinks back to KH2) i didn't save the world at all. Wow, this sucks..."
So really, KH2 totally ruined the franchise, and KH3 is pretty much just going to be a Final Fantasy spin-off (also, notice how the 3 main characters look like Judges, that just proves my point a little (but not as much as the game will itself, you just wait and see)
How has nobody said Ocarina of Time? That game was a masterpiece. I'm looking to get chrono trigger and final fantasy VI so I can't count them out (they're supposed to be up there). For FPS i'm incredibly stuck between perfect dark and every game from the halo series.

New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Umm...Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pokemon Ruby, LeafGreen, Diamond, SoulSilver, and Black, Professor Layton series, the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, Mario and Luigi RPG series, Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros. for N64, and possibly Luigi's Mansion.

Uh-oh.
Quote from: Piano_Pika_ on May 20, 2011, 12:00:18 PMI know right? :D although my sister says that Yoshi is a slave of the other characters, what do you all think? ::)
Nah, that's just ignorance ;D
Yoshi is a species rather than a single "person". Shared characteristics for the species tend to be that they're all a bunch of helpful, happy fellows. After all, an entire island habited by Yoshi helped babies Mario and Luigi return safely to their parents.
Though, it can be argued that the arrival of the babies was the triggering event that started a counter-attack against the Koopian forces that had invaded the island. After all, the Yoshi went on a slaughter rampage, carrying Mario as a sent-from-heaven symbol of the resistance. Mario witnessed all the bosses fall, the destruction of Bowser's fortresses around the island, and wearing his signature yellow cape killed a fair few enemies as well. Perhaps the Yoshi all see Mario as their leader and saviour, and will happily follow him to their demise, helping him defeat the evil king Bowser.
It should be noted, however, that Bowser had already established himself on Yoshi's Island at the time of the arrival of the Mario Brothers. The Yoshi were driven from their homelands by invading Shy Guys, roaming Magikoopas made the island unsafe, and Bowser's lieutenant Kamek mutated the local animals in order to beat the Yoshis and the infant Mario. The feud had definitely gone on for some time before the birth of Mario and Luigi.
Also note that even though the Yoshi are several individuals, they tend to act with a single plan, and a new egg always appear when another dies vanishes (as seen in Super Mario Sunshine, SMG2, and others). We never see a Yoshi die either, he only dissolves and floats away (again, looking at Super Mario Sunshine) or even just throws off his rider while being completely unharmed himself (Yoshi's Island, SMG2), so it can be argued that the Yoshis are immortal, and perhaps share a hive mind.
Anyway, let's put aside the events of Yoshi's Island and look to our first meet with adult Mario. Bowser has invaded Mario's homeland this time, kidnapping Mario's girlfriend, and generally does everything he can to kill Mario. But why? We have to go back to Yoshi's Island again. The previous time we saw Bowser, it was the Yoshis who took care of all the killing, while all Mario did was running around while invincible. He only took out enemies when they got in his path, or the geography of Yoshi's Island disallowed alternate routes.
However, neither Bowser nor his minions noticed this. Survivors told the tale of several Yoshis going rampant, but they all carried the same boy: Mario. Wherever fortresses fell, or Kamek was forced to retreat, Mario was there, while the Yoshis varied all the time. In the end, Bowser got to meet the boy himself, sitting calmly and cooly on Yoshi's back while the rampant dinosaur threw eggs at him, eventually bringing him down and ending his reign on Yoshi's Island. It could almost look like Mario manipulated the Yoshi to throw themselves into danger just so Mario could get his brother back. Bowser found a mortal enemy in the little baby.
This, of course, was all according to the Yoshis' plan:
Note that Baby Mario only fought himself under extremely contolled conditions, and he was invincible all the time while doing so. This suggested that he was actually trained to fight by the Yoshis. The Yoshis never took the direct approach and actually asked Bowser to get Luigi back. After all, their terrifying power and apetite would be apparent soon after the counterattack started. They could easily have gone diplomatical after the assault on the first castle, but didn't. Mario's first few days after his birth were filled with intense violence and death by stomping, eating or throw of blunt items, possibly emotionally scarring him for life. He was seen replicating these techniques with immense sucess later in life.
Bowser himself was influenced heavily by his second-in-command at the time, Kamek the Magikoopa. After all, it was the latter's decision to kidnap the young Mario brothers, and he himself oversaw the final stands of all the castles, or "boss fights" as the Yoshis called them. From Bowser's point of view, the Yoshis invaded all his castles on the island, while the powerful Kamek was unable to do anything, and finally Mario and Yoshi stormed his stronghold as well, hurting Bowser and sending him off the island.
Kamek, however, was an incompetent fool. First, he kidnapped a child, fuelling the already burning rage of the native Yoshis on the island. He never tried to negotiate when pressed into a corner, he just made the first underling he could find a lot bigger, then sent it out to combat without devising any real strategy, or indeed changing the strategy when the initial attack fails. No, he makes the monster grow, then leaves like a coward. This strategy is repeated until his final defeat, and we never see him that close to Bowser again. The adult Bowser quickly degraded him, but apparently kept him around as his magic powers came in handy.
What conclusions can we draw? It is fairly obvious. The Yoshis used Mario as a perfect decoy, they put Bowser up against him and even gave him some basic ass-kicking training along the way. Later, Bowser focuses all his wrath towards Mario, who time and time again kicks his tail and steals back the princess, further fuelling the rage spiral. And whenever the terrain, or Bowser's minions prove too tough for Mario to handle alone, the Yoshis conveniently appear to aid him, but they rarely face their common nemesis Bowser themselves. They just push Mario forward, and assist and encourage him whenever he needs it. They make sure Mario can always get to Bowser, defeating him time and time again. As discussed earlier, they never face any real danger themselves.
Always smiling that creepy smile. Revenge is sweet, or what?
That's right, folks. Yoshi is by no means the slave of the other characters. It's the complete opposite.

wind waker is pretty cool. I didn't mind the travelling because I enjoy the occasional sea battles. my main problem with the game is that stupid triforce piece fetch quest at the end.
It was fine in the first playthrough... the requirements to get the piece varied enough to keep it interesting. But after the first time I agree.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was better and harder, the first was good but the only level I had any remote amount of trouble with was the level in Dreadnought Galaxy with throwing the Bob-ombs.
So yeah Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite of the two. I expected Yoshi to be annoying but actually he was pretty fun to ride around on, and it's good he was only in several levels, not there all the time (that would have been overkill)

Quote from: spitllama on August 19, 2011, 05:59:12 PMWhat about the purple coins on Luigi in 1? That was by far the hardest..
Lol that level was way overhyped, I only lost maybe twice on it. I found it easy. (And it's in the second game as well...still easy...)
Also yes the Bouldergeist daredevil run was annoying as well.
I found 1 harder. Since you have Dreadnought and Daredevil Bouldergeist. 2 was easier (Whomps fortress in the second-last world?) but some of the stars were harder (Hidden Star in Boo Moon and the Flipswitch or watever in world 1)but I never sompleted either so...
*Blows dust of Wii
That final level in SMG2 though, the 242nd star...*shudders*

Wow! How many starts are there in that game?
The phrase "final level" and "242nd star" would imply that there are 242 stars, just like the original
^ Ha. Yes. And yah that was hard. It took my brother and I (I don't see how you could beat it without a second player) about 15 tries.

Every game has one start.
Mass Effect 2 is the greatest game ever made. This is not opinion. This is fact. It has been scientifically proven. What do you think they built the Large Hadron Collider for?
In order to prove that the God Particle is actually made out of the essence of Dark Cloud 2. DUH.
^This.

GIVE ME PROOF, THEN I WILL BELIEVE YOU
Okay, well it's got a great story, with a bunch of characters you get to know and care about. It's a perfect mix of a shooter and RPG, with great shooter gameplay (with other things like biotic powers) and RPG elements that eliminate the time-consuming and boring equipment finding and upgrading that takes up too much time in other games (like ME1 or Bethesda games). As an example of an RPG that isn't as good, look at Fallout 3/NV (although I do like these games). They are kind of existentially aimless, the main story feels like an excuse to be pulling you forward (I didn't care about the story or the characters in either), and they aren't cinematic. By this I mean things like the fact that it zooms into people straight on looking at the camera with several sentences of text for your choices. In ME2, you have just a few words, your character actually talks, there are cut scenes, and everything feels like a tight story. So you have a game with a great story and great gameplay. Oh, and the characters are believable unlike in many JRPGs in which the characters have crazy expressions of emotion no one would ever display.
For Strategy Age of Empire 3 and Age of Empire 3:The Asian Dynasty
For action Call of Duty series. 8)
^Somebody never played Age of Empires II. Might be my nostalgia, but I thought the second game in the series was vastly better than its successor. It practically defined the RTS genre as we know it.
