Here is a question I've been pondering about
I picked other. My choice would be for there to not be a series/movie adaptation because they always blow :/
as someone who's brought this up before, some Zelda games have a storyline that could really be done justice with a live action movie. That being said, the Zelda story is probably told on the best medium for those stories. Some of the older ones with not much dialogue or even gameplay could go a long way with a fleshed-out story. Still, like olimar says, it would just suck.

That's different. That's a fan film, and generally more effort is put into those.
Well excuuuuuuuuse me princess!!

This strengthens my point.
What asshole picked Twilight Princess
expected/10, but I still have to say that Majora's Mask would be the coolest. It would be almost like a horror film.
What, no love for Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon?
Zelda has great stories for a game, but it would definitely not translate over to a live action film imo, it just isn't set up the same.
I mean there really hasn't ever been a live action video game movie that's been critically successful (regardless of how much money they've made). Even the tomb raider movies aren't heralded as good movies. The closest shot we have to getting a good live action video game movie is J.J Abrams with the Portal or Half-life movie he is working on.

Even then, I don't think they're at all guaranteed of being any good. Both feature silent protagonists. That can make adaptations
quite tricky.

Twilight Princess is actually a good game

T R I G G E R E D
I love when Noc and I agree on things
TP>SS any day
ya know what
if skyward sword had been released in 1080p instead of 720p there'd be nothing TP did better
How about a movie of a guy with a sword cutting grass for two hours
And throw in some blockbuster, overly-edited, every-camera-angle-known-to-mankind smashing of pots
I like how deku shows up just to say that
Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on August 28, 2017, 08:23:15 PMya know what

Skyward Sword was in 480p
But I honestly agree with Noc

That would make a great Film!!!!
Oh wow 480p that's gross
Anyway the art direction in skyward sword is so much more iconic than twilight princess, skyward sword is gonna be one of those games that stand out 10-15 years from now for being timeless
Hahahaha you wish. It's already known as one of the most over-hyped and linear games, proving to be one of the worst (it not, THE worst) 3D zelda titles.
Personally, I really enjoyed Twilight Princess.
Can we stop bringing up linearity as an argument
Zelda games have been linear in some way shape or form from the start. The only real criticism you could give the game is fis tendency to overtalk, but since I like her a lot more than navi or midna it's not a big deal to me
Twilight princess meanwhile had one of the most boring beginning games, unexciting weapons, and felt like a remain of oot instead of being anything new
The dungeons were good, yeah but I don't think they're even close to being as good as SS dungeons
There is after all the main thing everyone hates about SS, and that is the MOTION CONTROLS!!!!
But let's get back to the film conversation please
Nope you brought up motion controls so now we're derailing harder
If you hated the motion controls it's probably because you didn't understand them. Yeah, every now and then you needed to press down on the map screen to recalibrate it, but is that really something to complain about? I for one am glad they put the motion controls in because it gave us the most fun iteration of the bow in the series
Well excuuuuuuuuuuuse me!
Skyward Sword is a good game. It's not NEARLY as bad as people will tell you.
Twilight Princess is way worse, and the worse thing about it is that people will tell you it's amazing or the best Zelda. It's like offensively unfun.
Have to disagree with Noc about the best use of the bow being Skyward Sword. I think the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask use the gyroscope more organically than just pointing at the screen. Same goes for Breath of the Wild and the Wii U remakes as well I suppose.
Also this is funny and relevant:
Quote from: Olimar12345 on January 06, 2012, 02:14:52 PMI liked majora's mask better than oot, but neither were amazing, imo. Windwaker, Links Awakening, The original and Skyward Sword are my favorites.
Let's just get back to the original conversation....
Jesus that quote's old. Poor guy.
I guess I haven't actually weighed in on this topic yet, so: while I think the Zelda series has enough lore and archetypal story structure to formulate a movie around, part of the core experience of the Zelda series is exploring the world in Link's boots. It wasn't until relatively recently that Link was given any sort of characterization beyond "the protagonist who has no objections to going on a quest"; Any characterization was provided by other characters' dialogue about him. The player was Link, for all intents and purposes, and the game was about the player's journey through Hyrule. Creating a movie or TV series removes that aspect and that's a big part of what makes the series so good.
welp I got ninja'd but it was to re-rail the topic so go me
Wind wakers remake also had gyro bow controls, and as neat as that is, you get to physically draw the bowstring back. It's fantastic
On topic: first Zelda could support a movie, a link to the past could, and wind waker could. The biggest hurdle is the non-speaking thing
Quote from: SlowPokemon on August 29, 2017, 05:05:39 PMTwilight Princess is way worse, and the worse thing about it is that people will tell you it's amazing or the best Zelda. It's like offensively unfun.
So I have bad taste in game? :(
Lol @ slow for digging up that quote. At the time of that post, SS had only been out for like two months, so ofc I still thought it was great because it was new (like a true fanboy). The difference here is that SS hasn't aged well at all, and now that it's had time to weigh in with the rest of the series it's worst features have shined though.
Ss Zelda best Zelda
Botw sucks
There's having an unpopular opinion, then there's being wrong.
She's so ugly and obnoxious
oh, Zelda herself
k then I agree with you there
Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on August 30, 2017, 08:38:53 AMShe's so ugly and obnoxious
Zelda? Obnoxious, but hardly as unpleasant to look at as SS. Yeeesh that one was bad.
Also, ss was just a fun person whereas botw was like, not even there
If they were real people I know who I would hang out with and who I'd actively avoid, lets just say that
Point taken, but I was addressing your previous post which was solely about looks and obnoxiousness.
I still think ss Zelda is better looking than botw but I acknowledge that people have different taste in video game waifus
My favorite version of Zelda is probably Breath of the Wild I love her design
@olimar I happened upon that quote two days ago and was like "I need to make a mental note of this" and then lo and behold I had the opportunity
Best Zelda WW Zelda who's with me
She's certainly the cutest but I haven't played The Wind Waker yet
That's pretty tempting, but I actually like twilight princess, spirit tracks, and minish cap all for different reasons
Probably put her at second best
There have been a lot of post for other, but what game are you guys wanting?
the other vote is most likely for none
I already posted Majora's Mask 😬
Thank you SlowPokemon
FINALLY, more people have voted!
